Headphones.com EQ Repository & Request Thread

Thank you so much for your reply!

Wow that was so fast, thank you ever so much for this! Will feedback as soon as I’m back from vacation and can try the EQ  Thanks again!

Hey Listener,

Thanks to you replying my request, I have now tested you eq settings with dt 700 and 900 pro x and also Sennheiser HD 400.

I have tested many eq presets till now and mostly like waves plug-in presets’s (room mode disabled) but Oratory’s are a close second. These days I’m testing JM-1 with harman filters on https://autoeq.app

Bass is good, I gently decreased them to my liking without issue. Mid.s are also cool pretty much no changes, for example the 4 to 6khz bump is reduced on the HD 400 and I’m glad to see that.

The highs on the other hand are too reduced, my guess is around 8khz is too lowered. I did try the suggestions to increase the highs but preferred adding a band and boosting around that area to balance things.

Sorry for the negative feedback as obviously you’re doing an amazing job here, I hope this helps.

I don’t consider that negative feedback at all! Listeners tweaking the presets to their hearts content is exactly what the point of EQ personalization is anyway  Especially since above 4 kHz it is truly anyone’s guess what is actually happening on your head vs. the rigs we use.

Question for you though! Did you end up adding a bit of 8 kHz across all of the headphone presets? Or just on one of them?

Thanks again for the commentary!

The th900 mk2 preset is great. It has a richness to the sound that i find lacking on typical harmon Ae/Oe. I prefer this sort of tuning over Resolve’s typical eq’s where he seems to go for something closer to neutral, although i do find his tunings probably more detailed sounding. Ultimately hard to compare because the profiles were for different headphones.

Also another request- Focal Stellia.

Thanks.

Cool!

And yes, for the dt700 I preferred a peak filter at 9500 with q of 2 and the HD 400 at 10500 with a q of 2.5. With the DT 900 I preferred a shelve in the similar region but don’t take these as detailed adjustments, normally it takes me days to understand with I really like for each headphone

Oh and I will add I did cheat a bit by looking at the Waves nx responces, cause despite it being payware your graphs seem extremely close :+1:

Hi, could a Sony MDR-MV1 preset be created? Thanks.

Hey Listener,

Thanks for the amazing work!

I tried your Hexa EQ with a couple of tweaks, and it completely transformed them. I never thought they were bad IEM’s, but they didn’t really work for me without EQ.

If you get a chance, an eq for the Focal Celestee would be great.

Thanks

Requesting HD 6XX. Thanks!

Sample+head variation on this pair is incredibly good. One of the best I’ve seen.

There is already an EQ for the HD 650, which should work for this!

I think you might have a slight mistake on band 11. You’ve written 250hz as opposed to 2500hz

Hi there could you try Samsung Buds FE

Hi again, done some listening now on the HD 700 - what a diffrence from stock! Trenendous work, thank you very much. Really transformed the headphone for me, stock was really not all that nice. Thanks a lot.

Could I ask for a preset for the Hifiman Arya V2 aswell? I only found the OG and the Stealth when scrolling through the posts. Please let me know if i missed it! Or maybe, is the V2 the same as the OG?

Also - would it be possible to have a preset for making the Arya V2 eq to match the Arya Organic? I’ve read a lot of reviews as to how they differ but it would be nice to be able to sort of hear the small diffrences on the FR.

Thanks again for your effort for the community!

Oops! Thanks

Sorry, can’t find any measurements specifically for the V2. If you search thread you can likely find my preset for the Arya Stealth which should be similar, though.

Just wanna thank you for this one, I can actually listen and enjoy my (very) old 990’s with a tweaked version of your EQ. Appreciate it a lot.
Only downside is that wearing the 990’s have shown me how bad the HD600’s actually fit my head, to the point where I don’t feel like listening to them anymore :pensive:

I would ask for the 7Hz Timeless, but it seems like no one has measured them on the 4620. Crinacle appears to have measured the AE, but not the originals.
