Congratulations on your new acquisition. Sorry I don’t have any experience with the larger Peli cases. Good luck in your quest for safe storage.
I just bought a couple of Seahorse cases with foam (SE 830 and SE 430). The SE 830 is large enough to comfortably house my HD 800 and HD 800S in a single case. The SE 430 is for a set of headphone I haven’t bought yet The website is good for dimension info on each case.
Just a small input, while I „use“ the HEDDphone.
With all this performance topics, regarding this set of cans.
For some, there might be this one elephant in the room. I don’t talk about the giant thing on my head.
What came to my mind, after a few hours, with this set, listening to all sorts of my own and other people’s testtracks, was the question, if it does transport emotions.
So Is this set able to make me enjoy my music?
Is this a technically impressive study, yet boring or lifeless?
So I switched to some guilty pleasure playlists.
I can assure you folks, it delivers. Up to some pee in the eyes… might have been an allergic reaction, we won’t find out.
Even with my „flat“ RME ADI 2 DAC > THX AAA 789 stack. The shivers come! The heart gets warmed up and you want to move
Apropos moving…
Clamp is exactly what I want with this type of set.
I can bend forward(not what you think) and it keeps position. As I lay back all the way, it stays in place.
You better not headbang hard, though.
Comfort ok? That is a must for me.
for my big head yes.
After around 2 hours I feel at the top of my head the point, where the headband has it’s center.
With moving the headband by half of an inch, to the front, it is gone. Or you take a brake, go to the kitchen… or whatever. You put it off for a moment and it is gone.
So nothing dramatic.
That was my one and only gripe that happens to be the main reason for returning them. It was a No No for me, I could feel the clamping force on the back and below my ears, I could also feel the weight of the headphones on top of my head. I couldn’t get past 15-20mins without feeling the urge to adjust them…I really liked the sound on them but the comfort issues weighed more for me.
I need to beef up my neck to be ready for the HEDDphone TWO (V2 of the ONE) - I hope that they shave off at least 150g from the overall weight and come up with a slimmer (or not so thick) pad design.
Thanks @MartinTransporter and @MrCypruz
This is something I’m really looking forward to as well (HEDDphone V2).
That’s what it’s all about, right? Getting that emotional connection to music. Heard a prototype last year and it was something special - I envy you!
I wonder what the GoldPlanar companies ATM headphone will be like. from the pics I saw it looked less bulkier and more normal looking.
Yeahh one could forget about it, with all the hype about the tech
The prototype at munich high end last year, was the reason why I kept watching after the HEDDphone. These few minutes of listening under worst conditions
Back in High School, this song from this album (Bless It’s Pointed Little Head) was one she liked to sing to me.
this intro will ever end?
Dear David, what do you want to say to me, with this song? Is it the „pointed little head“ thing? Lol
I did listen to it, but could barely understand a line of the lyrics.
For sure, it is lovely.
my physics teacher in the „gymnasium“ spoke to me in front of the class as uninspired fat bloke. And I was one of his best. Old Prof. Dr. Dr. and frustrated drinker. Thought he was entertaining.
So it seems you had more luck with the education officials
It is the pointed head thing. You apparently happened innocently on a very famous American idiom. As far as luck with gymnasium officials, I would have traded it instantly for more luck with the girls. Luck that just seemed to escape me with the one who liked to sing this song at me. It was the early 70s, and there were many times that I offered her “happiness in a pipe”, which she accepted, but I was never able to convert that into more. And I was a few kilos above the ideal.
Your phrase brought back memories.
Happy to bring you back good memories David.
I’d like to trade in the 70’s to my 90’s- if I 'd met my wife. Otherwise you can keep growing up in the best of all times
Hey everyone, just wanted to give an update. I ended up processing a return for my Heddphones. After about 50+ hours with them I couldn’t make the weight and ergonomics work. I am pretty tall and have a larger than average head so the odds were already against me. I do want to point out, the sound quality of the Heddphones are amazing and can be put against established flagship models at much higher price points. I hope anyone that finds the Heddphones comfortable will thoroughly enjoy their experience in the technical quality they can deliver.
As a footnote, I will very likely be going with the Focal Stellia or Raal SR1a as an alternative and will try to offer the best feedback I can in their respective thread after making my purchase. I really appreciate all the subjective and technical feedback everyone has offered here, you guys rock and I am looking forward to contributing more to this great community!
Greetings from Freddy
had a nice chat with him and this is going to be the balanced cable. Should be available around end of june.

So the clamp force/size of these comes in to question often. I am pretty sure my head wont fit them. For those who found it to be a little tight or uncomfortable do you happen to know your hat size or head circumference? Im a 7 /3/4 to 8 hat size.
58,5 cm around the head
33 cm over the head from ear to ear
I already wrote how it fits.
Yes, I read what you said re fit and comfort. Given the measurements you provided, thanks by the way, I cant see it being comfortable for me. Oh well. It’s not like there arent other cans out there.
Thanks again.
