IEMs Discovery & General Discussion

What about the stock tips? I quite like them.
I agree on the comfort of the B2/B2D. It’s great!

Unfortunately, the stock tips are super fatiguing for me.
I tried all three sizes and the only ones that make a good seal also make my ears very sore after a half hour or so.

I just went out and got a new Skullcandy Ink’d to see if the tips are any different, and it appears that they’re identical to the skullcandy tips that were the most comfortable on the B2.

And on a side note, the new Ink’d is actually surprisingly decent! The old model sounded like you were listening to music through a paper cup, but the new ones are more resolving and surprisingly well tuned.

I got the CP145’s in a few days ago and I’ve been wearing the IE300’s close to nonstop without issue. I’m not sure what exactly they do different, they just don’t hurt!

Thank you so much for recommending them!

It’s weird. I still have times when I can’t have them in long, but I think it is more to do with allergies and my long existing ear issues.

Enjoy them! And dream about the ie900!

I received both earbuds immediately after their release. Since then I have had the IE300, now the IE900, in my ear for many hours every day.

If you look at the reviews on YouTube or in the trade press, you will see that there is not a single bad review for both.

Based on my experience, I can only confirm these findings.

With the 300‘s, you get an excellent earphone, which the 900’s has even more Sound quality with a little more definition in all frequency ranges, a touch more spatiality and more precise bass resolution.

Oh, I was asked how punchy the bass is presented, the answer is: very neat!

But what fascinates me most is the very pronounced tonal “naturalness” of these two earphones, this is often my problem with the vast majority of ChiFi earphones, the tonality of which often annoys me More befor I am satisfied.

Due to these mentioned qualities, I would personally prefer these two in-ear‘s to their respective over-ear „partners“!

All I want and need is a single DD…will probably pull the trigger on the 900s!

Are the cables that come with it proprietary?

I have the sony ier-m9 right now and while they’re good, they’re kinda boring…

Yep!

The 300‘s & 900‘s not at all :dancer: :man_dancing:

Be careful, they’re both addicting

I feel like I need to have this IE300 upon reading your endorsement.

Very interesting manufacturer from Germany who makes individual in-ears out of wood that sound very good.

I think similarities with ZMF are intentional, since the owner of the “zeitgeist sales” here in Germany is Zach’s ZMF sales partner in Germany.

This first model series has 2 Sonion BA drivers.

Next week I will have one delivered to my home for a detailed test and exact technical data to give a few first impressions and photos.

It is just the beginning, several models are planned, including a multiple driver model with an additional dynamic driver later.

The sales manager of “Zeitgeist” would like to get in touch with you to send you a test model of these earphones of the first series.

There are plans to introduce more models later, including a multiple driver model with a dynamic driver.

His name is Thomas Halbgewachs available under the following data can be found on the website:

https://headphone.shop/de/

I have already sent Thomas your contact details so that he knows what it is all about.

Is the 300 all you need or is there a good reason for getting the 900?

With Sennheiser it is no different than with all other premium manufacturers, sometimes (Not allways) you pay a disproportionately high surcharge for audible but not exorbitant sound improvements.

Unlike the various models from Campfire Audio or 64 Audio, for example, the tonality and sound signature of these two headphones is at least in a very similar direction.

So it is actually almost all about improved fine tonal nuances, with which the surcharge is justified.

The IE300 is, for example, in combination with a Fiio BTR 5, a MUCH inexpensive but really VERY good choice to enjoy your music collection with satisfaction.

And yes, it can still be done a little better :clinking_glasses::bangbang:

Thanks
I am certainly intrigued by both IEMs due to my experience with Beyerdynamic HPs. I like the German approach with focus on usability and output over how it looks.

I was hoping you could easily switch the cables if needed or wanted.

After 1 week of use, I have to honestly say that I cannot “really” understand the cable discussion.

Yes, I was a bit disappointed after the first unpacking, but after 2-3 days of intensive use, the cable falls into shape without any problems.

With the 900’s, 3 cables are included, so there shouldn’t be any problems for anyone.

Companies like Focal, Hifiman or Audio 64 would be able to confer a title of nobility if they had included cables of this quality :face_with_monocle:

Admittedly, it is not a feast for the eyes, but absolutely functional and with almost no microfonic noises, unless I wear a zipper on the collar.

This is, for example, a cable from the highly praised Sony IER-Z1R, I can hardly tell a big difference except for the coloring :man_shrugging:

I think it’s because we’ve been spoiled by really nice cables from chi-fi iems…add to the fact that it’s also proprietary.

It probably won’t bother me either. The cables look exactly like the ier-m9 and they’re pretty nice, honestly.

I’m still interested just thrown off. I watched one review, can’t remember which one and they mentioned it was a normal 2 pin iem cable so figured it was easily swappable.

Unfortunately, they are proprietary MMCX cable connections. The “problem area” is drawn in red, as the green section „sinks“ into the in-ear connector.
