iPhone friendly portable amp/dac/dap?

I love the design of AK but the sound is not up to par. Not even close. N6II Titanium Edition is coming out with R2R motherboard.

You should seriously try EE Legend X. It’s just amazing. Along the same lines is EE Valkyrie II.

Give them a try along with N6II. You won’t go back, I promise

The legend X sounds like it would be an IEM version of the LSA HP-2 for me. Maybe even more so. But, still, no IEM can rattle your outer ear.

With allergy season, I don’t think a high end IEM is on the table. I only listen to the Zen in short spurts with the most comfortable tips I have (cp145 currently). Sneezing with IEMs in can have absolutely comical results.

Getting closer. I like that the line out on 4.4mm could simply support some desktop amp relatively easily.

Interesting. Cayin definitely has advantages for me (like full google play easily out of the box). So, I think it’s the next thing for daps. I just wish it was a bit more modern. Feels like something I am going to need to replace after the next android update comes out.

Ohhhh. You want a headphone to rattle your inner ear?

Spirit Torino Radiante. It still shake your whole body! :joy:

No it will not. Because the Android version is of no matter!

It will matter if apple drops support for android 8.1 or implements something that doesn’t work there.

That is never out of the question. Especially with android, what, 12 coming out soon?

Apple music is, unfortunately a lynch pin. Which sucks. But it is what it is unless I can switch services.

An expensive paper weight would not make me happy. I mean, it would be a very nice looking paper weight…

Poor Derek. Just quit the cult :broken_heart: and set yourself and your music free! :tada:

It’s why I quit too: I always felt Apple wants to force things on me, tell me how to do things.
And No irony, seriously. :innocent:

I tried. many times. I prefer the cult to phones that catch fire and explode. Though, admittedly, it was still a tough decision. Cult… or… die by fire.

I just gave up after that. And haven’t made a serious attempt since so much money has been sunk into the apple ecosystem even since then.

Been there. Had apps for the iPad (my 3rd!) for hundreds of dollars, because I tried to make it work as a productive device. Still I made the hard cut and never looked back.

Since I am self employed now, I don’t even have to use a Mac anymore.
Free after more than a decade! :star_struck:

Ha! I went the other way. I was self-employed for decades and there was no way that move was going to happen then. Then it became possible when I took a full time job and it just didn’t work.

Now both my work and home stuff are apple products. And it’s basically impossible to not have it in my life. And there is no way apple tv goes away with the hundreds of movies on there. Etc.

So I live with it. And, apple music specifically, is a much much better user experience across the board. Everything just works and a lot of stuff is simply unmatched on other services (discovery, library filtering, smart lists, ui, crossing all my devices… etc).

Doesn’t mean I won’t take the risk on the n6ii though. Have you ever driven a sundara with them?

No. Only Focal Clear and literally everything from Spirit Torino.

As of today even those:

Those are very cool looking headphones…what are they ?

Spirit Torino Valkyria. Their limited- to-99 pcs. headphones.

I don’t know anything about the brand. Clears I will hear one day. But everything can drive them. I intend to have a sundara again at some point, and my past experience with it wanted more power than I expected. (I jumped from powering them on about 450mw to about 3,500mw. The second was enough, the first was not. I don’t know where the actual line is)

Spirit Torino are still quite unknown. I was hooked up over another forum with them. Had lots of talks and finally ordered demos for my shop as I only sell gear that is new in Switzerland.

I feel in love with the quality and craftsmanship and also the sound. Today I finally got the Valkyria too. Sickest unboxing experience ever! Came in TWO! wooden boxes. :joy: Listening to them now.

My wife couldn’t listen for more than one minute.
She says it’s too intense and real.

Let us know how it compares to the others!

In the meantime the dap I ordered a month ago still isn’t shipping. So, I may get trigger happy and buy something else. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

His first impressions: Better than E02 module. Extremely spatial and clear sound…
