I thought the documentary on Sinead, “Nothing Matters”, was outstanding, although very depressing to watch.

Just wanted to share that I have REALLY been loving this album since this recommendation. Thanks.

Just listening to this for the first time, it is stunning. Thanks @Svadhyaya for the pointer to this.

I’ve been listening to a lot of the new Dua Lipa record and honestly I’m surprised how consistently great the production on her stuff is. These are million dollar records that need to work & sound good on any playback system, and they really do achieve that feat with some great songs.

Highly recommend people who enjoy hard hitting and bouncy bass to check it out!

No graphics, just some comments. Been a lot of stories about the 50th anniversary of the Stone Pony venue/bar in Asbury Park NJ. I’ve been there, but never at the right times. When I go to the shore, it’s usually a bit further south, into Maryland or Virginia.

Anyway, listen to the regular bar band of the Stone Pony this summer and hoist one to the Stone Pony while listening to Stevie Van Zandt playing with his band Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.

Hahah, I actually grew up 30 minutes from Asbury Park. Southside Johnny are for sure old legends there, been around a really long time. It was nice to see the Pony is still kickin same as ever last time I went to Asbury.

Asbury Lanes (a tiny poorly lit bowling alley and music venue I played a few times) ended up getting a massive refresh sometime in the last few years and it looks all fancy now. Super jarring! Place used to be a pretty dingy venue

Last time I was in Asbury, I was with others. We passed the Pony, and there were great sounds, but the others were intent on doing something else involving amusements. Is it Asbury that has the pinball museum where you can play all the old machines I used to play? Problem is now they charge you for time and you can play anything, I’d rather pay a dollar per game and let something ride on my skills for a replay.

sick last week and going thru playlists. this song always makes me feel better.

Just finished the Deadcast pod episode on Scarlet Begonias and had to come home and cycle through a couple of good live ones

Fabiana Palladino

And if that name sounds familiar: yes, she’s Pino’s daughter; and of course he plays bass on the record.

Long before I had high fidelity headphones, back when I was still trying to find aural nirvana with PC hardware and bootleg plugins, via my Klipsch Pro-Media 5.1 speaker system, this was a song that spoke to my soul. Many years later, with a world class hi-fi system, it still moves me, even if it may not be the highest quality recording ever made.
