It’s the opposite of wrinkly

I don’t know if you are familiar with Danheim, this is some intense, pretty dark stuff. Sonically very interesting, and it tests out your headphones low end and dynamic capabilities.

I don’t know them, but I’ll definitely check it out!

Here’s a funny story: circa 2002 I got turned on to a little known vocal & production artist, Imogen Heap, and well known producer, Guy Sigsworth (Seal “Crazy”, Madonna “What It Feels Like For A Girl”, etc), who had teamed up to form a collaborative group called “Frou Frou” (*interesting historical note: Madonna wanted Guy to produce her “Music” album, but Guy declined and agreed to write & produce only a single song, in favor of working with Imogen on the Frou Frou project). I was immediately taken with their lead single “Breathe In”, and commenced to follow them around NYC on their promotional tour - CBGB, Knitting Factory, Red Door, etc. All in all, like a dozen shows, including one at a Barnes & Noble in midtown which apparently no one knew about because it was me, my friend, and like 2 other people sitting literally a couple of feet away from Imogen & Guy doing an hour long demo set. The album was a hit, but a couple of years later Imogen decided to pursue [what has become a wildly successful] solo career and left the group. I’ve been a “superfan” of Imogen ever since, but I’ve always mourned that “Frou Frou” only did one album. Flash forward 20 years, and I was today years old when I found out that a year or two after Imogen left Frou Frou, Guy found a “soundalike”(ish) vocalist who he has been collaborating with ever since. How this escaped me all these years I have no idea, but what an unexpected treat to find this out all these decades later!

Also, this entire album “Lightship” is full of audiophile goodness! :headphones: :notes:

“A Case of You”.
WOW. Played this at least 20 times in the past week… so, so, so, so good.

Very nice, very very nice. This is my kind of groove. It reminds me of something I’ve listened to for years:

FYI, your video recommendation is the first thing I’ve heard on my new ZMF Auteur Classics (Mango). Going through the MacBook Pro to Bifrost 2/64 to the Lyr 3 with the LISST FET instead of a tube.

I was on vacation in Puerto Rico last week, and one of my friends who doesn’t realize he is an audiophile yet introduced me to this. I now have tickets to see them live in Queens in June. He is coming with me whether he likes it or not. lol

I’m a big fan of Paradise Lost and this album is a side project from a couple of members of the band. (Holmes, Mckintosh.)
This is growing on me. Has some nice choruses in it. Basically it is gothic rock means electronic.

I can’t find it on youtube or streaming, but this is the only record ever released with my name on it, so I’m sharing it anyway because it’s on my :headphones: today. #memorylane

The album version is, yes. I worked on a remix that isn’t available on streaming. I was also loosely involved in the development of their album “Reality On a Finer Scale”, which is IMO their best. I think I got a shout out in the liner notes of the CD, but it wasn’t released on vinyl, making the “Open Me” remix 12" still the only record to have my name on it.
