Very cool, I was thinking about the little thx amp I have tonight as I was editing photos and listening to music And realized how much the THX paired with the sterile SU8 Dac I have just isn’t for me, especially now that I have heard the LYR/Bifrost. Maybe the Mjolnir 2 Will be an amp I look to in the future As an alternative listening experience to the LYR 3 while still being much more enjoyable it sounds like then the solid state thx offerings or other premium SS amps.

the price is super reasonable too compared to other high end headphone amps, did yours include tubes or do you just grab them separate?
If you look on the used market, you can usually pick one up for about $500. I got mine for $494, shipping and fees included.

Oh that’s pretty awesome, do they still include the warranty from Schiit or is that original owner only?
I think the warranty does not transfer, but am not 100% on that. I’d have to check w/ Schiit

One thing I can suggest if you do get a Mj2: Buy socket savers for the tubes. Those mini tubes are in there pretty deep, and pulling them out is a PITA!

You might be able to get a US seller to ship it to Schiit for modification first, then have it shipped internationally.
I did that for @Lyer25 and the Bifrost 1.

Yup, it’s a pretty painless process and the fees are perfectly reasonable for the work involved. Turnaround time was less than a week if memory serves? That included shipping from ProfFalkin’s place to Schiit and back to him before he paid for shipping to… a courier that I paid a premium to ensure the Bifrost would arrive in good condition. Haha.
I ended up paying near what I would have for a brand new Bifrost at the time but it was worth it.

Also agree, the stock 6BZ7 tubes are boring.
Yes it has tons of power and the output impedance is very low at 1 ohm on high gain, or an even lower 0.3 ohms on low gain.

I have never heard a MJ2, but have it on good authority that it is close in performance levels as the LP, with a gain switch, and it can take a variety of tube types as well. Honestly, I have been thinking about the MJ2 a lot lately and might eventually pick one up.

I always use tube savers with Schiit’s recessed tube ports, makes life easier.
Amperex 7308’s a great choice for MJ2.
I find my LYR3 responds with greater variety in sound to tube rolling than my MJ2 even with the pricey’er tube pairs, plus I think I just prefer the sound of 6SN7 types to 6DJ8 types.

I wonder if Schiit will start introducing the black finish as an option on more products?
I wouldn’t mind a Vali 2 and a Loki in black to stack with the Modi and Heresy.

I like blackwith white lettering and silver knob but the only piece of Schiit I have in black is my Jotunheim R. I’m also not sure which of the two finishes is more durable. I guess I’ll find out, LOL. But I’m very careful with all my gear to keep things mint.

For entry level hybrid Vali 2 for $99 plus one EH 6CG7 ( about $18 on eBay or Amazon) is incredible!!
For months I was in love with that Vali set up to a Modi 3.
