Haha, just a minor nick, right?
That reminds me of the Monty Python bit in Holy Grail, “Tis but a scratch”

Just to make sure we’re all on the same page: Schiit is not making this amp, NITSCH is.
Schiit Collab Happens While traveling around SoCal, Christian met up with Schiit co-founder Jason Stoddard at Schiit’s Valencia location. He got the chance to listen to an odd and interesting little amp. The Magni Piety ("Apostolic…
Price: USD 149.99
“Schiit was kind enough to let NITSCH assemble and launch the product as a limited edition for the community.”
Anyone have plans to buy 1?
I sent it to my wifu as a Christmas gift idea. It’ll probably end up under the tree.
Yep. I picked one up. Might gift it to my son. Got him a Hel and Sundara last year. We’ll see…might be selfish and save it for myself haha
I did buy one. These limited edition pieces of Schiit are killing me. Folkvangr? Check. Nitsch Piety? Check. What’s next, a limited Fulla Schiit?
I truly hope they have improved the wall warts for those little new Magnis. Picture below was shot in April 2020, and this is what came with my Magni 3+:
Save some room for the new Magni+.
This “Limited Edition” trend is surgically aimed at our wallets.
Add me to the buyer list. I ordered one…it seemed to make for an interesting comparison against the Lyr 3 with LISST and the Korg NuTube.
PS magni heresy from last year
after listening to cheapaudioman’s review i would love to try one out. too bad its a limited run, kind of strapped for cash this time of year.
It’s a vampire
I bought one too! I don’t know why. Because I didn’t get a Folkvangr!
It will get hooked up to one of the SE outputs of my Yggy, which is kind of ridiculous. But haha that’s me
Same, I bought one, and I got my son a Hel but a Senn 580X. I’d given him my old Drop Hifiman 5xx too, I didn’t like them, he didn’t either…
But I’m keeping my Piety! Unless I give it to my brother…
I’m not sure - it isn’t mine, its a gift from a friend.
For anyone who recently bought a Magni Piety, this is an interesting read on Jason’s development of the Magni:
and this specifically on the Piety
What about Magni Piety? Magni Piety, for those who don’t know, is a Magni version that is produced in limited amounts by Nitsch. A lot of people love the way it sounds, and say it sounds like a tube amp. A lot of people think it should have won our first Magni deep dev dive—from 2016, when we did 3 different Magni versions, one that became Magni 3, one that had a simple Continuity output stage (like Asgard 3), and one that had something I was calling “the programmable output stage,” or Continuum™, which used a whole boatload of parts to allow me to curve the output stage to simulate square-law, or tube-like, devices. We had a number of people listen to all 3, and the results were mixed. Mike liked the “programmable output stage” variant best, I liked the “simple Continuity” variant best, lots of others liked the “one that became Magni 3” best. Given the low power and complexity of the “programmable output stage” version, it was never really in the running. The simple Continuity version also lost due to lower power. And the one that became Magni 3 went through a lot of tweaks before it made it to production, because it had features—most notably an optional DAC card(!)—that never came to pass.
So i guess the Magni+ got an upgrade with no more reach around power button.
its 1:30am and i cant sleep, that silver/red heresy color scheme is hot schiit.
something’s not right in this picture or i need some sleep…ZZzzz
I might be wrong (quite common ) but I think the power button is still in the back. Isn’t that the gain on the front?
i might be wrong ha. i see the I/O now. if it is the gain on front.
don’t know why they would do that. usually never touch the gain
hi makes hissing noise and low gain completely gone in my system.
to be fair the reflection is off as well. everything is wrong argg.
They may be pushing the fact that low and high gain change the response of the pot and (perhaps) the character of the amp. This drives home that different headphones require different settings. The Magni is aimed at new/casual users, and they perhaps these users overlooked the second rear toggle.
In my use of Schiit products, one rear toggle switch is enough. I can arrange my stuff to reach either the left rear or the right rear, but reaching both sides can be an issue. Cables and other things cause stack interference.
Finally, it could follow from market research / complaints from buyers. Perhaps buyers were dissing Schiit in comparison with Topping, etc. Or, this is just an upgraded look to come across as new.
I initially thought you found a Christmas Santa edition! Red and white…but no, it’s just a regular red Heresy base with a regular silver top. It’s a striking look but not my cup of tea.
BTW, the Magni 3+ is listed as “Closeout” in their B-Stock list. So, this “Magni +” is apparently the new SKU.
Yea i have heard that about the piety with the gain switching sound difference.
only use hi/gain when using the pass thru rca’s to the bookshelf speaker amp.
have all my audio on a APC surge arrest and try to turn everything off before
flicking the main apc switch off. then reverse order when powering up.
will be in corpus on the 14th. if they have a shop in this location, i want to grab a few things and ill throw a few pics up.
would be cool if a later iteration of this product had both gain/power switches in front with a powered on light. the top vents in the shape of the S logo and blue sides with the silver top.
Both Magni Heretic and Magni+ are available in either black or silver now. Also 3 gain levels. Also no fasteners, volume knob recess, and debossed Schiit logo on top.
Is no one going to talk about how the headphone jack no longer interferes with the volume knob?
