Does anyone here have experience with vintage Soviet made tubes? Would they be worth pursuing?

Perhaps try searching through this member’s posts.

Depends on what you’re using them for. I have a Decware amp and the power tubes are Russian. I have yet to find an el84 that works as well as the Russian variant.

Picked this up awhile back. I don’t use it much but the novelty is pretty cool!

Hello and welcome @kion.

I picked up some Acme 2a3’s secondhand for my Stratus but one tube is making a repetitive clicking noise that can be heard during quiet parts. The volume does not change the sound and it is not from any interference. Has anybody dealt with this and could it possibly go away after a long burn-in? I bought them with only 100 hours.

How many hours do you have on them? It could be noisy due to not being used in a while, like burning them in again.

That’s what I am hoping. Supposedly only 100 hours on them.

Good luck. What happens when you adjust the nulling pots?

Didn’t help. It’s seems like it has nothing to do with normal microphonics. You also can’t hear the clicks when playing loud music but it’s annoying with quiet songs especially classical music.

Gotcha. Hope it burns through.
