Thank you for sharing your really nice collection of tubes @JTS

Nice to see you here @Monsterzero, I just started checking out your reviews and subscribed to your channel.

Agree tube rolling is like finding that right spice to enhance the ‘flavor’
Some work really well and some don’t.

Hi Monsterzero,
Are you selling your 6SN7 tubes? Which ones do you have as a matched pair? I’m plugging them in to my Cayin HA-300 tube amp

Hey @JoeyGun! Welcome to the forum, and it’s nice to have another tube roller in the forum.

As usual, I have been tube hunting lately, and just added a few more to my collection. I found my “Holy Grail” tube. This tube has it all, and it has been late nights since I got them. They put you there with the musicians, unlike any tube I have heard before. I have 3 variations now, and they are all incredible.

Tubes recently added to collection.

-ECC82 Hamburg Long Plate D Getter 56’ (K62 D6H)

-ECC82 Hamburg Long Plate Foil D Getter 56’ (K62 D6F)

-ECC82 Hamburg Long Plate Big O Getter 57’ (K62 D7H)

Thanks! Finally got my end-game (for now, haha) amp with the Cayin HA-300!

Now I gotta start thinking about rolling the tubes. For the 300b, I’m seriously considering the Psvane Acme Supreme 300b.

For the 6SN7, I’m thinking about either a matched pair of Sylvania VT-231/6SN7GT 3-hole Bad Boy or Tung Sol Black Glass Round Plate.

If anyone’s selling theirs, I’d love to buy it!

Those are both killer 6SN7 tubes, and I own several pairs of both. Another 6SN7, that I recommend that can hang with those, is the Brimar CV1988 Black Glass.

Hey Joey I am selling my 6SN7s,6SL7s and 12SN7s. Im having Glenn redo my amp so I wont be using these tube types anymore.
Unfortunately, the GOTL only takes a single tube in that slot so I do not have any pairs.

Cool pics! I am curious what tube amps you are using? I just started researching the EL84 tube, as I plan to get the ZMF Pendant, which uses that tube.

It’s Almarro A205a Mk II, which Almarro custom made for me with 4-pin XLR jack in front, further modded internally.

Cool stuff! Thanks for the info.

Not sure if replying to myself is proper protocol but, late night style, I have to say on the pirate’s island of dual triode gain tubes, the Brimar 6060 Yellow T is the Bruce Lee of the bunch in this MAD EAR+ HD. It makes everything sound bigger than big, quicker than quick, cleaner than clean, deeper than deep. Oh deeper than deep.

W10 Roon>HQPlayer>RME ADI-2 DAC fs>SE (DIY w Kimber Wire)>Mapletree Audio Design Ear+ HD (Upgraded caps and pot), HD 6xxM (Kidd Mod), HD 600.

Dont sleep on the Ken Rad SN7s. Bass to die for!

I did have the Ken-Rad '44 Black Glass on my Lyr 3, but I thought it was a bit lean compared to the Bad Boys Sylvania. Now, on my HA-300, I found the stock Shuguang 6SN7 Gold bottle has a great sound, even better than the Bad Boys. Similar bass, but much better treble and mid-treble on the Shuguang. I do wonder what the Ken-Rad '44 matched pair would sound on my HA-300, though.

Interesting. On my Glenn, the BadBoys were nice, but the bass couldnt compete with the staggered plate KRs.

Same goes for the 6J5s,which im using w/ adapter. I sold off all of my SN7s. 6J5s sound better and are cheaper. Win/win.
