What music do you listen to, to relax the mind and body?

the last weeks, it´s cigarettes after sex in repeat over and over

Dire Straits remind me of our boat and sailing, campfires, camping and vodka-chess battles with my cousin
some soundtracks, like the Big Blue
Norah Jones you can´t go wrong
Jacinthia is new to me - love her voice and instruments around her - thank you Joe @Audiophile
Sade, George Michael, Fleetwood Mac, Jack Johnson, Mike Dawes, Willie Nelson, Bob Marley, Lenny Kravitz, Hootie and the Blowfish, Fink and some electronical stuff/swing tracks or accoustic versions of albums by german singer songwriters

is what comes in my mind first
my chill playlist is embarassing to share

I think as long I get some nice timbre, I can chill best - like a snoring(or is it “purr”?) cat on your chest can get you down to coma levels

I normally listen to female vocalists. Jacintha “Autumn Leaves” and “Jacintha is Her Name” are riveting. Of course, Nora Jones, Shelby Lynn, Sarah McLachlan, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Jane Monheit, Phoebe Snow, Eva Cassidy, et. al. And of course, Diana Krall is one of my all time favorites.

I like film soundtracks, especially if they are heavy with electronic music; example: “Solaris” the remake with Clooney composed by Cliff Martinez.

Time takes a cigarette, puts it in your mouth
You pull on your finger, then another finger, then cigarette
The wall-to-wall is calling, it lingers, then you forget
Oh, you’re a rock ‘n’ roll suicide

You’re too old to lose it, too young to choose it
And the clock waits so patiently on your song
You walk past a cafe, but you don’t eat when you’ve lived too long
Oh, no, no, no, you’re a rock ‘n’ roll suicide

Chev brakes are snarling as you stumble across the road
But the day breaks instead, so you hurry home
Don’t let the sun blast your shadow
Don’t let the milk float ride your mind
You’re so natural, religiously unkind

Oh no, love, you’re not alone
You’re watching yourself, but you’re too unfair
You got your head all tangled up, but if I could only make you care
Oh no, love, you’re not alone
No matter what or who you’ve been
No matter when or where you’ve seen
All the knives seem to lacerate your brain
I’ve had my share, I’ll help you with the pain
You’re not alone

Just turn on with me, and you’re not alone
Let’s turn on and be not alone
Gimme your hands, 'cause you’re wonderful
Gimme your hands, 'cause you’re wonderful
Oh, gimme your hands

— David Bowie “Rock and Roll Suicide

chapeau!
He was the greatest. Bit intense most of the time to relax for me. Wonderful for melancholic or melodramaric times

Read a few times the lyrics with the song running …
Interpreation is always wildly possible with his lyrics
I see him clubbing in London in the 70s and imagine he had a laugh about a young chap with a cigarette in his mouth, playing cool and so evolved the lyrics… who knows

Currently I’m listening to Eskostatic’s Serpentine and Valleys. But I also love Master Margherita’s Border 50. Both are ambient-like electronic music albums.

The Bee’s Knees…, and not just relaxing but thought provoking as well.

Here’s my go-to relaxation playlist I’ve been adding to over the years and shuffle through when I’m looking to take it down a notch (or three):

@FLTWS checking that soundtrack out now.

Have you seen the original Tarkovsky Solaris? Incredible film. Very different and haunting soundtrack - made in part with a bizarre Russian photoelectric (as in sound from images) ANS synth.

Yes, I have the original “Solaris” on a Criterion edition DVD. Both are worth viewing. Not your typical space opera’s.

It has a touch of stalking - sorry :open_mouth::joy:
had again ripped some old CD’s yesterday and transfered a few from pc to the laptop … now that I cancelled my qobuz trial… needed fresh input and love her voice.
So she was my first pick this evening

She is one of my favorites for sure!

I am listening to Whitney Now

Listen to “The Bodyguard” Original Soundtrack (Mick Jackson, 1992) by Whitney Houston on Qobuz

App available on qobuz.com/apps

Every time I step away from the 6XX and come back to them after a long break I am reminded for intimate vocals they are just so damn special!

I either listen to a lot of synthwave or classical movie scores to unwind or to just focus on work. Right now I’m just chillin’, so I have Bernard Hermann - ‘The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit’ on. 2 examples below:
