What music have you been listening to this past week?

In about 1961, my wife’s Dad blew $8 on one of the original Barbie Dream Houses for his little girl, Barbara. In one of the rooms is a console radio-phonograph and there are little 1 inch square albums to go with it. Frank Sinatra, Kingston Trio. Vick Damone. And the Four Preps on Campus. This weekend we asked Siri to play the last one.

Gerry Mulligan

Interesting Jazz picks. You turned me on to “Esperanza Spalding & Milton Nascimento” last month. Love the cover of the Beatles cover “A Day In the Life”. Thanks . Check your bass in headphones with a song from “Brian Bromberg with Tom Zink, Charles Ruggiero - LaFaro”, song “Blue In Green”

Bringing this thread back to drop some gems. If you don’t like EDM, you can ignore the first couple songs here.

Recently went saw Fred Again’s USB2.0 show in Chicago which was incredible

These guys were actually recommended to me in an Instagram ad and I gotta say, even though my personal data is violated on a continuous basis Instagram has served me a lot of good recommendations. Reminds me of Avicii

One of my favourite bands, The Midnight released a new album and myself and my Wife will be going to see them in Chicago this May. We’re now going beyond EDM into Synthwave

TimeCop1983 is also in Chicago in March which I’ll be heading to as well

Electric Callboy is here in May as well which I’ll also be seeing

And then I’ve been going back down the Iron Maiden rabbit hole since they’re here in September so here’s my favourite live performance of Fear of The Dark

And ending it with a song that brings me back to circa 2010-2014 when the likes of Of Monsters and Men, Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers and all dominated the airwaves. Just a fun upbeat song
