What music have you been listening to this past week?

I don’t typically listen to metal but Fantano’s description of this release as a mix of extreme metal and jazz piqued my curiosity. I have to say, the music is great so far and the material really shows off the speed and the detailed nature of my Sundaras really nicely! Great stuff!

In these dark and trying times, Chromeo is letting everyone know over funky 80s synth grooves the proper distance to show someone that you care about them. This EP bangs.

Flim is great. Have at least 3 of his albums. DMP recorded and mastered very well also.

Oooo this is a good one. Lianne La Havas is very talented and this album is great.

I feel like Tidal is profiling me in ways that is making me uncomfortable. Not sure how they picked this play list for me, and I would have never admitted to listening to some of it. Most of this list would have been on t-shirts of the kids in high school who smoked out back near the dumpsters. Boi did I enjoy playing it last night while doing some work. This must reveal I was a closet dumpster smoker…

I am being profiled

My friend runs a vinyl shop in Canada that I miss very much now that I moved to the US of Eh. I would walk in there on a regular basis and look at the wall of used vinyl he thought deserved special notice. More times than not I would pick something off the wall and he would say “That is on my desert island list”. My reply was always “Why would you bring vinyl to a desert island just to have it melt?” Back and forth we would go. Pretty much the conversation would start the same way before we got into the details of why the current record I was holding had been elevated to desert island status. This is one of the last albums I bought before packing up my vinyl for the move and just happened to open the box today containing it. A great album, but not sure it would qualify for my desert island list (guess it depends on the size of the list).

Listening to Taylor Swift’s Folklore led to me checking out The National discography as a whole. Been listening to their albums oldest to newest and am currently here:

Are you a closet head banger? It’s ok to admit it. You’re among friends. :sunglasses:

It’s exceptional isn’t it. And her Radiohead cover. Love the live stuff on YT too, just sings and plays the guitar with eyes closed.

Can someone please explain this to me?

Teaterkoncert - Bob Dylan

I googled but have no clue what it is.

Looks like a bunch of Dylan covers.

Enjoying the hell out of this for some reason.

Funk and sophisticated at the same time. Legendary DJ’s Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito put out an album of incredible hip hop classic covers with the M19 band.
