Definitely will once I have the amp lol
I “ENVY” this.
Well done. Looking good for sure.
That Envy is such a good looking unit . I miss having one on my desk!
I have to say after a year with it now ….
Still….even more so than in the beginning.
I’ve found my happy place!
@taronlissimore you should really remedy that and don’t let Andrew steal it!
I mean I can’t say my desk is exactly sparse from gear… haha!
I am running our CanJam setup of the HM1 with the Weiss DAC502 right now along with the Empy 2 (unsure how I feel about this compared to Empy 1). I do miss that big tube glow on my desk though. I need @GoldenSound to hurry up and finish is WA23 review so I can give that sucker a run on my desk for a bit.
Brimar-made Cossor 6J5G. Great clarity on their own. Added a GE (Ken-Rad) 5814 to the mix, resulting in a thicker/warmer sound with intoxicating bass.
I wonder why the guarantee is all crumpled up like that
I’ve been experimenting with 6922/6N6P/6BK7/etc tubes in my amp lately with great results. When I stumbled upon the Mullard CV3986/6021 “sub-miniature” tubes as suitable replacements, I had to try them. They are flying lead tubes that pulsetubestore sells attached to sockets. I expected them to be small, but not THIS small. 9mm in diameter.
Here they are next to a a 6067(12AU7) and a standard 6080 size octal socket:
Comically small next to 5998’s:

I have these, they look like the miniature white Christmas lights. They sound great though. I like to use them with adapters to replace 6SN7s
Finally landed a pair of solid gray plate Tung-Sol 6550’s after seeing so many sing their praises over the years. They sound amazing in my Aegis.
I got the Toshiba 6080 (Gray Plates.)
These are heavenly with the Woo Audio WA22. Definitely gonna put tons of hrs on these.
