Metas? Wireless? If not, what’s driving them?
these are the Meta, the wireless ones with meta are called Wireless II and say it on the front. All LS50 iterations are awesome and right now you can get. crazy deals on the LS50 NON-Metas because of these new ones coming out.
Also interested in what’s driving them. They definitely need some power!
I thought your desk was the floor…
Neat setup!
Good setup!
Is your amplifier the Twelve or Twelve Master?
Sorry, I know nothing about these things - can the LS50 can be used equally well as nearfields and as bookshelf and as stand-mounted speakers?
I ask this not to call into question anyone’s setup - again, I know nothing about these things - but because I like the idea of such versatility. (I don’t know what living arrangements I may have in the future: I’m in a tiny apartment right now but am moving to what will probably be a bigger space this summer, and one day I might like to have these in an office if not a living room).
I’m using currently this chain:
TT2-Saga(preamp)-Vidar
I also really like the RME as a DAC, and will be going back to that in a bit as I like my TT2 for my headphones.
@Tchoupitoulas I’m really impressed with the stage and imaging of these in my setup as more traditional speakers… I know they sound just as fantastic in near field as well!
@MRHifiReviews has a set in stereo 2.1 setup as well and really enjoyed them as well
When I had mine, they were used to fill room 14x12x10 with sound, powered by a Vincent SP 331 mk ii amp ( 150w) Quicksilver pre, Lumin A1 Streamer.
Hey guys sorry been a crazy week so far already. I definitely love mine. Hands down one of my favorite audio purchases in 20 years, I know right that’s pretty big praise. To my ears they are that good for my setup. They actually don’t need a subwoofer either with the right amp and room.
@TylersEclectic and @MRHifiReviews
If you love these ls50’s, you need to listen to the Kef Blades II’s. Totally bonkers, just a bummer they are so expensive but think of the ls50’s with the best bass you have ever heard!
Glad a local shop has them in town and I get to jam them from time to time
I had both years ago and in a couple of days decided to sell HD58x. Sound was cleaner and softer on HD6xx, but… have in mind the last one was used and the 58x was brand new.
I sat down this morning and switched between the 58X, the Elex and the Helios and the 58X seem to lack the sparkly high end the other 2 exhibit. It’s funny how one can adapt to a HP and think it sounds wonderful… until one hears a better HP and is startled at its faults.
Make sure “different” is actually “better”. We like different. But if you switch back in two weeks, you might be surprised at what’s “better” about the 58x.
Don’t know what amp/s do you have, but HD6xx gets better and better if you do the same with yours amps.
Straight Twelve. Couldn’t justify price difference for what most say sound same same.
Yes! They have a low background noise and the co-axial driver means they work great in nearfield.
So package came in when the person brought the box from the other room. I was like there only headphones. How am I gonna sneak this box inside.
More to come
Not getting rid of them. Variety is the spice of audio.
Have the THX 789. Sounds good to me.
Maybe its the T+A PA 2000 R integrated amp
