There were some nice looking sets…thank you for the reply.
I was told they sold out in under a minute.
Could well be … certainly wouldn’t surprise me.
Definitely all gone by 8 mins though.
Nothing caught my eye this batch. Was a bit more tame than some others
I was going for Atoll, but hesitated at the last second and lost out. Part of me wanted to wait to see what ZMF November brings and the other part wants to see more on the Meze Elite before making a decision to get another VC.
New podcast interview with Zach. I haven’t listened to it all but it sounds pretty interesting. I did hear something about Koa as a future LTD wood which will be nice!
Thanks for sharing! I can never get enough of ZMF.
KOA?! Oh myyyyy.
Love my VC! Considering what’s next from them already
I just listened to that entire podcast and it was a fantastic listen! The interviewer did a really great job, and asked some killer questions.
“Sometime in the next year” as of late August. Tomorrow is sometime in the next year. Just sayin. Hopefully not 364 days later, which also fits the timeline.
He also said thy’ve been working on the “2019” model since… well since 2019. And anticipate that being released in 2022 maybe.
It’s hard to plan ahead in times like these.
Just very excited for Koa, especially after seeing pics of that one VC that’s out there and maybe the same one shown on their site.
Having purchased, and loved, my Aeolus, I then purchased, and love, my VCs.
Here’s the problem, if you want to call it a problem. In a small but potent collection of headphones - VC; Focal Utopia; Sennheiser HD 800 S - I’m having trouble finding a niche for the Aeolus. It feels to me like it has the punch of the Focals, the detail of the VCs, but I can’t articulate when I’d hear a track and say, THAT’s one for the Aeolus.
I have to spend a lot more time with all of these, and I’m not looking to unload the Aeolus, but wondering how all of you fit these in within what I’d imagine for many of you are comparable collections.
So… as someone who plans to add an Aeolus in the not too distant future… this was my plan.
- HD 800S (also have) the classical killer. Soundstage, clean.
- I also have a VC. That’s my “best” and see it as the everyday listen.
- I have the OG Focal Clear coming and, in my head, that’s gonna have the slam that I may want for harder rock.
So… in my head… the supposed additional warmth of the Aeolus could be really nice for Jazz, which is a massive part of my listening. Of course, I don’t yet have the Aeolus, so this could all be incorrect thinking.
Also have the Stealth Arya and, candidly, that’s the one I am struggling to find a place for… though they’re still new.
That was kind of my thinking re: Sennies/Focal/VC, but I guess I’m not hearing a world of difference between the two ZMFs - the VCs perhaps being a more refined version of the Aeolus. Don’t get me wrong, they’re gorgeous and sound wonderful, but I’m wondering if I would’ve gone for the Aeolus if I already had the VC and looking for that niche. Maybe it’s jazz, though I love my jazz through both the Focals and the VCs. Such problems.
Ha! Well, certainly not a bad problem to have.
I am right there with ya on the VC and Aeolus, and I ended up selling my Aeolus as the VC is like an improved version and then some to my ears, with the advantage of having better isolation. The Atticus on the other hand is another story, and I think is a good change up from the VC. My VC and Atticus get equal listening time, and are equally as enjoyable yet different enough to keep both.
Given that you already have a VC, you might want to try a Rosson RAD-0 instead of an Aeolus. It has some nice warmth and I find it works well for both rock (hard or otherwise) and jazz.
As the owner of a VO, RAD-0, Stellia and Aeolus, it’s the latter that has the least use, even though it’s a phenomenal headphone.
Ugh, don’t tempt me… I am IN LOVE with the RAD-0 and have been looking for a bloody excuse. They’re so gorgeous. Those and the VC are the top-tier of aesthetics as far as I am concerned.
