So, a list generated by council or a group? Might work if they had varied tastes. Otherwise it’s kind of an echo chamber for the same preference.

Concur! Also preference and personal bias is always something everyone needs to take into account with reviewers and everyone else really. For me, I have a preference to ZMF, Focal and Sennheiser…I’m beginning to also gain a strong liking to everything Schiit.
I also prefer “enjoyment” over “measurement purity” when it comes to DAC and amps.
My baseline has shifted from the HD800(sdr) to ZMF Verite.
I reserve the right to change my opinion based on new experiences and facts presented to me

That might be a really useful thread. As long as you keep discussion out of it. Make sure people list why they recommend it, and what they compare it to. That’s my take on it anyway.

No I dont have it “now” I had Tom Blanchard send me one for a few weeks to review etc…and I think its the best tube amp I have EVER heard or used…but its $2K…my mainline is $1000 and I had to build it and its close, but there was magic with the T4 for sure…

What is it using for a rectifier tube or solid-state, Reminds me of Benson Earhart Guitar amp.
- 2 x JJ EL84 power tubes,
- 2 x JJ 12AX7 preamp tubes,
- 5AR4 rectifier(default) r
Has anyone run Planars with this amp with success? I have been reading about it, it really is a beast.

But it does depend on what specific planar cans you’re talking about. High-efficiency, low-impedance, planar cans are not the best fit. Though it genuinely sings with higher-impedance/less efficient stuff (the LCD-4 is sublime here, the RAD-0 rather less so … though certainly not bad).
