I’ve bought Mojo 2 as it is on sale (360e).
Both Dunu sa6 and he6sev2+aune s17 pro evo sound good with it.
Should I use a simple mojo eq (to add a bit of bass, fix the 2k dip and highs) or use software peq instead?
I’ve asked ChatGpt to approximate Amir’s he6se PEQ and Oratory’s he6sev2 PEQ. This is what I’ve got:
Amir Mojo 2 Band Suggested Gain Reason 20 Hz +2 to +3 dB Helps reflect the 80 Hz +7 dB boost. Not perfect, but Mojo 2 doesn’t have a closer low-end band. 125 Hz +1 to +2 dB Matches your +1 dB @120 Hz. Adds warmth and balances the 20 Hz gain. 3 kHz +1 to +2 dB Compromise between +4 dB @2 kHz and -3 dB @4 kHz. Boosts clarity while softening the peak. 20 kHz -2 to -3 dB Matches your -3 dB @10 kHz; rolls off treble edge and sharpness.
- Mojo 2 can’t target 2 kHz and 4 kHz independently, so a moderate 3 kHz boost is a balanced compromise.
- You lose some precision, but tonal intent is mostly preserved: added bass, vocal clarity, and smoother treble.
Oratory Mojo 2 Band Range Suggested Gain Reasoning Band 1 20–125 Hz +5 dB Matches 105 Hz +5.3 dB boost Band 2 125–500 Hz -1 dB Mild dip at 950 Hz Band 3 500–2k Hz +4 to +5 dB Strong boost at 1800 Hz Band 4 2k–20k Hz -1 to -2 dB Compensates for dips from 2.7k to 9k
So, not ideal, but it sounds better than without eq.
