Chord Mojo USB DAC/AMP - Official Thread

Was doing some reading of the chord mojo manual and it says to charge the battery the pc needs a usb port with 1A current, was wondering if anyone can explain what this means?, my laptop has two usb 3 ports

thanks for any help here

can someone here let me know what item i need to plug in my chord mojo to an ipod touch?

also, what item i need to use the chord mojo for samsung note 9 , thanks!

USB 2 spec is for 500mA or 1/2 A. USB 3 is around 900mA to 1A so you will be fine with the laptop. You can also use any wall charger for phones, tablets, etc that are rated at 5volt 1A up to 2.1A range The MOJO will get warm when charging and powering IEMs or headphones at the same time. Higher current ratings (Amps) for chargers are ok because the device will self limit the amount of current that it draws from the supply. The voltage of the charger must be 5v for this device.

So,

Got my chord mojo and when i attempt to use it with my ipod touch i get a error saying the accessory uses too much power, any ideas as to what i can do? please help!!

Make sure youā€™re connecting the cable from the Lightning to USB adapter to the data input on the Mojo not the power input.

Itā€™d be a USB OTG cable, with a micro USB (type B/male) connector for the Mojo end, and whatever connection type is on the Note 9 on the other.

I am a bit confused as to what that means (sorry i am very new to this) this is my first ever huge headphone purchase, looking at amazon and not finding much help

This should do what you need - USB-C to Micro USB OTG Cable. But since I donā€™t have a Note 9 I canā€™t say for sure.

Ah you guys like Mojo? I find it far too warm, I like my sources to be neutral. I also find that whatever processing Chord does messes with the soundstage of my IEMs, so Iā€™m not a huge fan. That said I have one in mint condition, anyone wanna buy it?

@Torq is usually (like 99.99ā€¦%) right.

Heā€™s an integral part of this forum, and weā€™re fortunate to have him here.

Thanks @Torq!

I love my mojo. That said, my battery life is starting to dwindle. Anybody know where I can get a replacement battery? Thanks!

you can get in touch with Chord themselves and they will replace the battery for you. For a fee of course. I did this and it all went well.

Iā€™m not sure how to post a new topic but thought Iā€™d share an issue I was having with my Audio Server hanging (stopping music playback) when using MOJO that required rebooting my Server.
I use MOJO exclusively as a Desktop DAC with my stereo and the hanging issue was traced to my bar-fridge kicking OFF. This after trying MANY approaches to the problem.
I read that RF was generated by some fridge compressors when they kick off.
MOJO now lives under a copper bowl (which acted as a small Faraday cage, I guess)
Problem solved.

Cheers

Not sure where you live but hifipro in Canada has them for just under $100 CDN.
They are easy to change.
