They look the same; but I live in Denmark and had mine sent from the US without any issues. So if the UK ones you found are not right, then you can buy those I got and get them shipped to you in the UK.

Very good!

Is that the Starlett from another forum?

Did you get the Mullard with it?

Starlett buddies!

Yes, mine was actually due in a month or two, but couldn’t resist the slightly cheaper price and serial#002  Donald was also super chill about it since it moved everyone up in the waitlist by 1 month.

The previous owner had some RCAs but I did not like those at all lol I prefer the stock tubes much more.

You outrank me with #2 though. Glad Donald was good with it. It was a good deal.

Interesting. I really like the clear top rca as a preamp in mine but your chain is different than mine though. Stock Westinghouse was ok. Do you think a good NOS Mullard is worth trying to find, Ive been on the fence about it.

Hopefully your sonic frontiers holds up for a long time.

Hmm, I have no idea, I’m not too knowledgeable with tubes. Your best bet is probably asking Donald. My friend who has the first Starlett just texted me saying GE tubes are pretty good sounding, solid state-like sound in a good way.

haha yeah fingers crossed. I absolutely love this DAC. The previous owner did have the parts refreshed recently so I should be good.

Cool. As power or preamp? I’ve seen a lot of different GEs for the power tubes but not so much for the 6CG7.

Nice! yeah they’re nice amps, but make sure you like the house sound. It’s definitely not for everyone.

I know some people who pair the susvara with DNA stratus/Stellaris. Starlett won’t have enough juice for the Susvara I think

Sure. Gotta love that these tubes are pretty low cost.

hell yeah, the funny thing is I have its extinct older brother, Sonett 2 as well and the replacement tubes for those costed me $75 :sob:

My current deskop setup. In terms of sound, I’m absolutely satisfied with where I’m at right now. The Bifrost 2 > Euforia > Empyrean setup is what I’ve been working towards for well over a year by now, my very first complete high-end setup with synergy and pure listening enjoyment as the primary goals.

But there is still room for improvement! Strongly considering selling the 789 and replacing it with an Asgard 3 to have a matching Schiit stack, and I’d be more than happy to scale down to a 100% single-ended desktop setup for the sake of simplicity/convenience. Still need to figure out an elegant solution for routing the Bifrost’s unbalanced output to the SS amp, Euforia and my speakers and being able to switch between everything without needing to power everything on all the time. I guess that’ll be my next challenge in this wonderful journey.

This weekend I’m listening for differences between three DACs I own. The SMSL SU8, Chord Mojo, and the Jots internal MB DAC

My current setup are three DACs running to a Jot then running single ended to my LCD-2C.

Using the source select on the Jot I can switch between the three different DACs. I’m using Audio hijack to send Tidal to all three DACs and I did some volume matching using Audio Hijack too.

So far the juries still out. Most of the differences I’m hearing are volume matching issues. If y’all have any tips for doing volume matching I’m all ears. I’ve done it with music but now I’m trying to listen to some tones.
