Hifiman HE6Se V2

Stop making me want to re-buy things I can’t use!

That FR on the v2 looks really good and based on your impressions I’m very curious to hear it now.

That’s quite impressive for the SE V2. I realize that at a certain level improvements are costly, but if I were a Sus owner that spent 8x I wouldn’t be too thrilled.

i hate using these words because it’s so cliche, but kind of true.

Susvara will show itself over the HE6SE v2 when you have good recordings.

In some generic pop songs; ones with some lack of dynamic range or compression, outside a couple small things in its tonality, it’s hard to distinguish the two going A-B for me. But when you have a well-record track with proper dynamic range and resolution, the resolving ability and dynamic advantages of the susvara shine through.

Obviously the value is dependent on the person. It’s a big jump in price. I also don’t recommend buying susvara at full-retail price…

Great to hear! :joy: I will save my money then and stick with the HE6SEV2

However if you got the HE6seV2 for $699 you would be thrilled

Source chain is equally as important as material with these particular headphones.

(Nice mods on the HE6)

Absolutely, the necessary flip side of the coin :+1:t3:

Definitely agree with the source chain comments. Both of these headphones a bit pickier than other stuff I’ve owned on source/amp.

For sure, but when you get that right, they’re amazing. :ok_hand:t4:

:100: percent on the HE6SEV2 being the most picky. The Mogwai OG is a excellent match for it. Case in point the synergy is real between those two but Verite Open has much better synergy with the Pendant, this is why people in this hobby have so much stuff :joy:.

Which one is it again? On ZMF’s website they are categorized by the one you mentioned but have different selections by alphabetical organization

is this the right pad? amazon calls it the Dekoni Audio Memory Foam Replacement Ear Pads Compatible with HiFiMan Sundara

i meant “purple” pad and not right pad

thanks. the purple line looks the best to me

Jotunheim 2 came in a few days ago. HE-6SE V2 + Jot 2 is absolutely fire, even with a D10s DAC. Upgrade-itis has been cured lol. I am definitely looking at the $1000 price range - maybe even more - if I’m going to upgrade.

Quick question about the grill mods, though. Do you guys leave your cans without a dust cover even with the grill mods? I noticed that there’s a black cloth inside that prevents it from being completely see through, and I’m not seeing anything of the sort in any mods I’ve seen.

I’m asking because it is terribly dusty where I live, and I am absolutely not going to leave it without protection against dust.

I bought a roll of this and glued it to the new grill. It’s similar to the material thats used on the susvara by default.

Which color? Please tell me it was something bright and gaudy (even if it wasn’t)!
