Who doesn’t? The question is, will you get it, and what then?
Except for a boat. Because a boat is a ravenous money pit and every time you use it something must break. Out at sea. In a storm. When you are seasick.
Here in Florida we have a hurricane and one of the first things you see is boats washed up on shore. In some cases they are never reclaimed and sit for months or years. I suppose that people are reluctant to fool with a money pit after it’s been trashed.
I’m not normal ( or vary widely from the “norm” ) at all. My Parents weren’t normal in regards to audio, they had access to a lot of Mid-Fi & some Hi-Fi equipment thanks to my Dad’s job and they loved to dance. So Music was a big part of my growing up and it has stayed that way.

I really like this guy on Head-Fi who reviews iems. He is blind since birth, but he includes so much detail, and content into his reviews. Because he is blind he has developed a keen sense of hearing, both for music, and everything in his world. I do believe we can develop a better sense of hearing but it takes work to be more analytical and attentive.
I retired back in 2010 at 58, with 37 1/2 years at work. I should have done it at 55. So much to do and so little time. .
Living in Fla most of my 70 years. I’ve had all types of boats, and the money pit is for real, but its Fla and so much water with a need for different fishing boats. I’ve had 18ft Lund aluminum jon boat with a 50 merc. A Ranger and Skeeter Bass Boats, a Maverick Flats boats to a partnership on a 2005 Contender 31 w/2 Yammy 250’s and a Out of all the boats which are now gone, the jon boat still gets used almost year around.
Money on audio gear ( 2 chl and HT gear) , I could have bought a new car
I had to send my wallet for it’s 5th vaccination.
This is so true, buying cheap stuff always leads to disappointing outcomes. I dont regret buying my HD 800s, or my sony gold walkman. They just sound so amazing, I know i would have been disappointed, had i chosen something cheaper.
I initially mi-read this and thought you said “vacation” instead of 'vaccination"!
Let me know the results and effectiveness for you! YOLO
It’s reverse psychology that rich people have! Haha - 100% just sarcasm here.
I agree with this, too. I find it works better for me to drop significant money on the good stuff right up front rather than nickel and dime my way up the ladder for years. History has proven that once I get the good stuff I am happy with it for many years, typically making it worth the up front cost.
