Love the pro-iCAN. Not as detailed as the Phonitor but way more dynamic punch and power. I tend to prefer the Tube+ mode for the stage and a little smoother sound but will use the pure SS mode for some good low end bass.
For my preference, I kept the iCAN and the Phonitor has a new home; folks who want detail over all will probably go in the opposite direction
I’m curious if a refresh of the Pro iCAN might be on the way. I have no information or indication that might be the case, Just a feeling I guess. Its been out for a while now, and Thorsten Loesch has supposedly left iFi as well (I’m not sure how long ago?)
I’d love to see a “signature” version, in the same finish as the iDSD signature, as well as whatever improvements they might be able to do.
Well current model is discontinued, and my local hifi store is clearing them out. Smells like a new one is coming.
I’d guess they’ll refresh their top end lineup too with some new branding name and tweaked sound.
Zen (entry), Neo (mid), some other three letter name??? (high) … sticking with Pro seems unlikely.
oh damn I didn’t know it was discontinued. Are the Pro iESL and Pro iDSD discontinued as well? The plot thickens!
So the official word is that they are “soft discontinued” because they don’t have the parts to build them. No official discontinuation yet. But you don’t have to hear it from me, @SebastienChiu might have more details
Nah, he being shady. Refusing to comment. Where’s the scoop !?
Still considering it. Powerful and versatile amp.
Not being shady - or refusing to comment.
Part of my job is wording things the right way, and unfortunately, I don’t really have a public way to comment on this outside of what distributors have been told.
I get to say things when they are publicly official - nothing is yet regarding the Pro iCAN yet.
Hope you CAN (ahem, badumtiss) understand that!
I’m a little biased, but either way, you’ll be hard-pressed to find an amp as versatile and powerful as the iCAN. Ya won’t be dissapointed!
Still, one of my favorite amps for the money, looking at it right now on my desk!

But does it slap Marcello?
It slams, did you watch my review @BuffaloWing ?
Did you say it slaps?
If there is an issue with the operation of the tubes that might require a replace.
Which tubes fit and are recomnebded for the iFi ICan?
I undestand that the originals are either the GE5670s or the WE2C51 (please correct me if I am wrong)
Thanks
Guys, juts wanted to let you know I have iPower Elite since Friday and I am conducting some listening tests - so far limited to SS mode. Let me know if anyone is interested in my results.
Hi @alekc. I would be interested in hearing your impressions as I’m sure others would be too.
Would be great to hear! Its not an entirely inexpensive upgrade, but if it does what it says on the tin, it might be worth it.
Would love to hear your feedback!
I do believe we also do replacements in house if you need servicing.
