Hello!

My name is Bevan, based in Pittsburgh, recently joined after lurking in the forum for a bit.

Just purchased Sundara to go with my Jotunheim and a Valhalla 2 to go with my HD6XX. I also have a Magni/Modi stack in the office and also a set of DT177X GO.

New member from Brazil. I was pretty happy with the 64 audio tia fourte noir, but I dropped it and now I need to send it to repair. I recently ordered the Letshouer S12 and the Thieaudio Monarch MkII to see if I could live without the 64s, but while searching, I’ve been reconsidering to get back into the full size open ear headphones also.

Hi everyone! I’m (mostly) new here. I joined a couple months ago to pick up some stabilized ZMFs from the Buy and Sell and have been lurking at the threads since.

My entry to the hobby was about 10 years ago with HD600 and JDS Objective2+ODAC combo as that’s all I could get my hands on as a grad student (still have both of them). Recently I’ve renewed my interest and collected some new goodies. I have been really enjoying the hobby and reading threads here so figured I might as well join in properly!

Hi everybody

Greetings from the Midwest (GO CARDS!)

Music has always been part of my life . I play/used to play (I have family going back generations that played) . My father plays in his Church band , I also have friends that play . Been around live music/live stage setups better than half my life .

My headphone journey , in a more serious fashion , started with my HD 280 Pros . I purchased those somewhere around 2014 I think . From then until now , I’ve amassed the following . I know some are on the lower end of things , but I was happy , & I could afford it .

My daily driver : HD 6XX (with a Periapt cable)

I also have these :

HD 380 Pro
HD 598 SE
Hifiman HE-4XX
AKG K7XX
Beyerdynamic DT 990 (250 & 600 ohm)
DT 880 (250 ohm)
Phillips SHP 9500
Pioneer SE-A1000
Superlux HD 330

For an amp , I have a Darkvoice , & a Bravo Audio Ocean . I just recently purchased an SMSL SP 200 . I like it so far ! I’m considering a dac , but I’m unsure if it would be beneficial , given my setup (both the SP & DV run to my sound card (Asus Xonar D2X) , & I use the card’s dac . I’m starting to explore , after a dac decision , some new headphones . Kind of torn between the Hifiman Sundara , & the Monolith M1070 .

Welcome aboard! Nice collection.

I have the M1070. I don’t have the Sundara, but I do have the HE400i and Ananda. The Monolith and the HiFimans are very different sounding phones to my ears. In fact, the HE400i and Ananda are very different sound from each other, too.

Thanks !
It’s a little difficult to actually listen for me pre purchase , I mostly listen to/scour reviews before making a decision . Both the 1070 & Sundara are the same price , give or take a few bucks . What do you think of your 1070’s ? I’m trying to stain a budget of sorts when it comes to headphones or a dac . I just became a Grandpa twice over (my daughter had twins) , so they come first , & both (Sundara & M1070) are about what I’m able to afford presently .

Congratulations! That’s awesome

I love the relaxing, laid-back, enveloping planar sound of the M1070. Definitely a big-sounding out of the head experience! I haven’t listened to it much since I scored an Audeze LCD-2F. I wish the M1070 had a different headband. It’s a bitch to try and remove the yokes. You need something like a watch tool to turn those very small screws.
