Hello. Welcome. Two things: new users can’t create topics, and second there is a purchase advice thread already. That, plus the general questions topic, cover most every one-off request.
I understand.
That said, I have close to no real knowledge of headphones to offer, which makes me not very “qualified” to reply to any topic with meaningful content. Which in turn prevents me from gaining some “momentum” on the forum. In short, beginners like me don’t have a point of entry in the forum.
So post your question in the “General Purchase Advice” thread.
If you don’t have experience in the field, you’re likely to be posting the exact same type of question that has been done 100s of times before and that does not need its own, dedicated, topic (this isn’t Reddit).
Not to worry. “Reply” is just the name of the button. If you are in a topic, like the general advice topic, you hit “reply” to add your questions.
What you’re replying to is the beginning of the topic which asks something like Do You Need Advice? If so, Reply Here.
And youi’re already a valued member. Those who claim that they don’t know it all are the best kind.
followed your advice, thanx
Hello and welcome @pelgrim, @Irene_Haley and @Gggg.
Hello and welcome @Harry_Potter and @Jingyi_Hu.
Somehow that name seems familar. Welcome. Any relationship that I may seem to have to Rubeus Hagrid’s older brother is purely coincidental.
Hello and welcome @Bantiong.
Hello, everyone!
My name is Amaan, from Toronto, Canada. I’ve been following the hobby for a few years now and I’m very enthusiastic about psychoacoustics. I love learning! I’m currently on a path to upgrade from my ATH-R70x to something a little more resolving (and comfortable).
Glad to join you all.

Hello, my name is Bob and I have mainly used headphones over the years for the extensive travel I used to do while working as a photographer. In that time I went from Grado over the ears to a Sennheiser HD 595 and two different Etymotic earphones, a pair of Shure SE 535 earphones and the finally the Sennheiser Momentum bluetooth headphones all connected to my ipod or iphone. They were used for passing the time in the air more than any sort of serious listening. Lately I have gotten into wanting to do some field recording, so for that I have an old pair of Sony MDR-V6, Sennheiser HD 25 ll plus and just picked up a Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X all closed backs so that they are quiet for recording but not the best for just music listening enjoyment. Headphones for audiophile were not a big priority because I love listening on speakers, lately I decided to dip my toe into audiophile headphones and picked up a HIFIMan Edition XS and a Sennheiser HD 600 along with a iFi Audio Hip DAC 3. So we will see where this goes.
Hello and welcome @Landshark, @Fernando_Tous, @Bridget_Murphy and @VeroGolfChamp.
Hi There!
Honestly I joined the forum because im looking to buy a used HD800s but after looking around im going to ask a question that has honestly been asked alot but…HD800s or Focal Clear? I already have an edition xs so im not looking for planars at the moment.
Welcome to the forum!
I’d suggest asking your question in the 800S thread or Clear thread. You’re more likely to get an answer.
In fact if you read both those threads, you might be lucky enough to find posts by others who have compared the two.
Hello and welcome @Bobishere.
