Hi and welcome @dbstechtalk. I shall take a look.
Youāre very welcome, sir! I enjoyed your monolith THX 788 review, looking forward to seeing more.
Hello audio enthusiast,
I“m Martin,43 from munich. Had always interest in music and audio gear.
Love Karaoke and concerts. We have a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog and I prefer kind not ignorant people.
But in general everyone has itās background.
The headphone thing grabbed me with in the 80s. Walk- and later DiscMAN user.
Love the retro Koss Porta Pro look and sound.
worked in the āconcertā industry as āroadieā in my early twens with building up gear and storing it away in the trucks(not a real roadie of course) and security in the pit in front of the stage.
in the late 90s I started working in the tv-production as runner, later lights, camera-assi, audio assistent(not an engineer), only put microphones on the moderating people and changed batteries⦠at the end cameraman - over 7 years as Freelancer where fast over. 2 years more after marriage with a save job at disney channel doing the same.
Now I sit in the office since the last 16years or so.
I think old open AKGs where my first over ear.
A few years ago searched for a good closed back gaming headsetā¦
Picked Beyerdynamic 770s 80 Ohm and enjoyed the soundstage, nice subbase and the sparkling
So the search never ended - got a cheap USB powered DAC/Amp - did not like it at all and 2 days later tried a few with some highend hifi-dealers near our place.
Tried some headphones at this occasion and it blew me away. So I started research in forums, on youtube and spoke with dealers. The rabbit hole got me. Budget grows, some pieces got sold, but most goas to family and firends. Have some friends
infected with it. This journey is fun, my wife is ok with it and I go on.
With the mid-fi and entry level audio possibilities these days you can achieve some nice sounds with reasonable invests.
I am open to Bluetoth solutions for on the go, like cheap IEMs and have more portable DAC/Amps than my wife and I need.
Spotify Premium and Tidal Masters are quite new to us - maybe a year and the second half a year.
We love buying CDs and rip FLACs. On The PC Foobar is running.
this special community is very helpful, the people are professional and kind to each other - I appreciate it. The content created is outstanding. Found you over @resolve Andrew - his reviews are gold
sorry for the long hello
Martin
Welcome @MartinTransporter great to have you here!
Great to have you here @MartinTransporter, and thanks for the great introduction. Willkommen im Forum!
Welcome!
Welcome !
Never be sorry for a long hello.
Itās The Long Goodbye you must apologize for.
Unless your name is Altman.
Hello everyone.
I have been never properly introduced myself here, although I have been a member for a while now.
I asually read more than I write, so there is that.
I have been into audio everysince I first tried my dadās Sansui system in the early 80ā. He made me my made me my first mixed tape on that system. The simple days, heh!
Today I spend most of my time listening to music over headphones at work and watching movies in my HT. These days I prefer to build things myself such as speakers and amps. Happy to have found this place.
P.S. Between this forums and SBAF I can get a pretty good grip on most interesting products on the market and that is a really GOOD thing considering that a lot of the products are really hard to demo here in Scandinavia without actually buying. You peoples are spoilt with companies like headphones.com and their fabulous return policies.
Hello from Everett, WA, (just North of Seattle) found this site after reading a few @Torq reviews on Head Fi. Nice site!
Hello everyone,
My name is Caleb,
Iāve recently just started working with the Headphones.com team and I am brand new to the audiophile world. In the past few weeks I have learned a tremendous amount from the incredible content posted by everyone here. Really excited to be a part of this enlightened and engaged community.
Aside from a burgeoning passion for amazing audio you can always find me in the kitchen pairing the pursuit of immaculate sound with my search for the perfect dish.
Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
