New Here? This Is The Spot To Introduce Yourself

@MartinTransporter they fine as German and French farm dogs. It’s when they win Westminster that we have problems. They had the nerve to claim that the fru-fru clip was “functional”.

Hi David,

this is the first time, I am not able to follow you. Not because of different opinions - it´s so far, that I understood nothing you wrote about. Maybe you did refer to some historical stuff I am not aware of.

I never saw a fru-fru clip and would be pleased if you could send me a link.
As we don´t have poodles, I could have missed something.

He means this I think:

The poodle was originally a large hunting dog with curly fur – the story was to avoid getting tangled in plants and weeds. Then the French turned them into living topiary.

oh this is … I have no words

I see no reason to do this to a dog

the poodles(small, medium, giant and labradoodles) we meet in munich are normal, cool little fellas - they play hard with our 50kg Rhodesian Ridgeback boy

could this be a 80´s thing by lonesome old ladys? or is it still common on shows to “dress” them up like this?

I seriously thought, there was a funny commercial for cereals or other stuff - called the “fru-fru clip” :upside_down_face:

“Artistic” French poodles are an old thing. This is a very, very standard style in the US and it has some devout followers. The ability to sculpt fur follows from its naturally curly texture.

thank you @generic … again learned something new on this forum!

the curly hair is the reason “(dog-)allergic” people can hold them

I didn´t want to call out anybody - for their (strange - in my humble opion) taste.

Wow, thank you for the warm welcome. I didn’t even know this forum existed until extremely recently when someone tipped me off. I’m liking what I see around here so far. Looking at either the Heddphone or Focal Clear as my next purchase so I will be sure to peruse the thoughts of owners here.
