Tried this briefly out of curiosity as they caught my eyes when I was in one of the Yodobashi Camera stores in Japan recently. Those stores are noisy and arguably not ideal for testing these, but the general sound quality didn’t convince me at all and neither did the never before experienced tactile feeling of the relatively hard and thin rings around my ears.
FWIW, I love mixing life sounds with music, for example using my Sony Link Buds or Shokz’s when running, or walking in nature with my Audeze iSine 10’s and listening to a mixture of classical music and nature sounds, or driving my Lotus and listening to a blend of trance music and engine & exhaust noises - but couldn’t imagine how this one would work.
Then again of course, I might have been biased because of such experiences. So, really curious how others experience this and what the use cases are.
