Piece Of Mind is my favorite Maiden album, but maybe it’s because it’s the first one I listened to. That whole string of albums from the first to Seventh Son is so consistently good that it’s hard to choose a best one.
My favorite song from Somewhere In Time is ‘Sea Of Madness’. And I might be in the minority there.
New to the topic and this forum. But I’m a rock & roll fan, goin back many years. Currently enjoyin some of Smiths co-founder/guitarist Johnny Marr’s recent work.
I just spent an hour looking for some new music and found a few new bands that I liked with new releases. Sadly I ended up buying none of these because of the super distorted and compressed goo for a sound from all of them. It makes me sad for the bands but I cannot enjoy the music with that type of sound anymore, it just annoys me.
Who does the best cover of “Hot Rod Lincoln”? I used to favor Commander Cody, but today I listened to the Asleep at the Wheel version and I think it’s better.
I don’t know about “best,” but Bill Kirchen’s take on LIVE! at the Krush might be the longest (9:52), and has to be near the record for most references to other musicians in one song. It’s a lot of fun, anyways.
