Here’s another in the gratuitous holey female clothing genre. Mainstream pop rock though.
lol. Apparently she designs the clothing that all the bandmates wear. Interesting…
I enjoyed the visuals once I muted the audio. However the male vocalist dressed in Renaissance fair costume and makeup combined with his over the top dramatics was almost SNL comical.
My thoughts exactly. Better to see (her) than hear. It’s a cheap and easy way to get attention for an average band with no originality. Bon Jovi got halfway there with hair metal, then along came Lita Ford and the formula was repeated generation after generation.
If you can’t stand Semblant, then do check out Mizuhu Lin in The Erinyes. A trio of outstanding women. My crush there is Nicoletta Rosellini.
Sword fight scene (in the above video) lasted much longer than historical broadsword fights. Maybe 5 seconds was the norm. Broadswords are not that heavy, are well balanced and deadly.
Swinging and clashing is for the movies, or so I’m told in the blade forum I also frequent. Skewering and ripping open large wounds made for short nasty battles.
Admittedly, I didn’t watch the video but instead streamed the song. Cool tune!
Fistfights don’t last this long either. And they’d typically result in concussions or broken (hand) bones before that. But it’s entertainment and makes me laugh. Most “injured heroes” in films couldn’t get out of their hospital beds for the Act III duel.
While I appreciate the video, I get tired of the formulaic cartoon villain gravel male vocals. Evil should be more seductive.
Therefore I reply thusly:
They have a sludgey sound that sometimes reminds me of Mastodon.
The attempted weilding of the sword in the video was…entertaining.
Yes. I posted this in a blade forum. Now some of the guys want to put their SOs in a shopping cart and go to the grocery store.
There’s a sword in the video?!
