I’ve had one of each for a little bit now, and will put up a proper comparison/review of them sometime over the long weekend (maybe later today, more likely early on Sunday) … excuse the quick and dirty pictures:

Both units are available in silver and black/red, and there’s now a matching black Modi 3 to go with them, as well.
The measurements for both of those look very interesting (see their linked APx555 results on their respective specs pages)!
Definite upgrades over the previous Magni iterations.

I love the black and red color scheme. I was thinking about picking up the magni 3 on sale for black Friday, do you think these are enough of an upgrade to forgo that and spend the extra $25.

Yes, absolutely.
You can even pick up both of them at the moment, and then return the one you don’t want to keep without paying a restocking fee - from Schiit’s site:
If you want to compare, you can buy both, keep both for 30 days, and return one with no restocking fee (for the first 250 orders).

The op-amp heresy version doesn’t really interest me, but the 3+ does! Looking forward to your impressions.

Was hoping for something cyber Monday. But no.
Schiit do not do sales, ever.
They discount end-of-line products, but that’s all.
There’s an excellent chapter on it in Jason’s book if I recall correctly.

I suspected not. Which is why I said “something”. There are non sale, non-discount incentives. Especially if they are involved in marketing with other companies.
Is there a vote if the Monolith THX AAA 887 is worth the 4x pricetag over the Magni 3+ Heresy or the standard Magni? My guess is no, but that they’re different in which case I’ll just pretend I didn’t already order the Heresy.

Not sure where you’re getting those prices.
On the Schiit website Magni 3 is $59 and Magni 3+ is $99.
Don’t know about the Monolith, but if you are looking for the THX technology, the SMSL SP200 is only $289 ( was $261 when I got it) and is an impressive amp compared to the old Magni 3.
By the way. Are you buying the Schiit at Amazon or are you including the shipping in the cost ?? They are $20 cheaper at Schiit website ( before shipping and tax).
Hmm, looks like I was mistaking the Amazon listing for the Magni 3 and the 3+. I don’t actually see the 3+, just the Heresy and then the added S&H to boot without Prime.
Weird they would have so much higher prices on the Amazon listing. I guess they’re protecting their margins from whatever Amazon takes off the top.
So now even more of a conundrum if the Magni 3 is that much cheaper, even more curious how that AAA compares for the price difference between these two classes of devices.
Amazon doesn’t list things for free. The additional cost is probably what it costs Schiit to sell there.
I’ve sold items on there myself and it’s a lot more expensive than you might think. A KEF UniQ 5.1 speaker set I sold for $800 cost me nearly $90 in fees, and I still had to pay normal shipping rates.

Magni Heresy is $119 plus $9 shipping = $128 from Amazon even if you have Amazon Prime.
Direct from Schiit price is $99 plus $13.69 = $112.69 FedEx home delivery, least expensive option. Really no reason to buy from Amazon I can think of when you can save $15 buying from Schiit instead.

Jason mentioned on another forum that there are few OG Magni 3’s left so grab one if you want it. Also that the Magni 3+ and Heresy sales are split evenly so far.
