I use the Sys as a switch. 1 input, 2 outputs. Works fine.

Nothing else - it’s just the DAC, tube preamp, Loki, and amp. Thanks.
I that case I can’t see it matters much, just try it in both spots to see which you prefer.
I was thinking that as you are wanting to add a SYS to use two outputs, if you place it after the SYS then you will only be able to EQ whichever output it is connected after. If you place it before, then you can EQ both outputs, but that is personal preference whether you need to EQ both or not.

Great points, thanks. I agree that it shouldn’t matter much and there’s no substitute for trying with your own ears. I want the Loki mainly for the solid state amp. And I think I’d prefer to separate the Loki from the tube preamp in order to preserve the tube influence (nothing more, nothing less).

You’re not kidding saying it’s taken people by storm. The Bifrost 2 is constantly flying out of stock. I ordered mine late May and the new shipping date was changed to June 9th.

I don’t disagree that the Bifrost 2 is popular, but wonder about supply chain delays due to tensions with China and/or COVID-19. The Mass(Drop) THX AAA 789 was unavailable for months and months; for a while it sold for 2x retail used on Ebay. Then, when it came back they’d only sold 5K total units… The market for $699 DACs might just be really tiny relative to that for Bose and Beats headphones.

Spent the last few weeks not listening with Focal Clears on my Schiit stuff…mostly the Aeon 2 opens and balanced on the Jotenheim and Magni 3 SE. Also the new toy in house the 75th anniversary Senn hd25.
All good.
But today , the Focal Clears went into the Jotenheim balanced fed with the B2…Joe Satriani comes up playing “Always with me, Always with you”…
OMG 10/10.

Well, just posting here because I am still sad… My Bifrost 2 went back to Schiit for check up. It died this past weened out of nowhere.
On a positive note. Schiit was quick to respond and get my RMA going.

Their customer service is pretty awesome. When I bought the Asgard 3 + Modi Multibit, something went wrong so my credit card got charged twice. I called my bank, but all they could do was start a dispute. When I emailed Schiit, they immediately found the extra transaction refunding my account within three hours…on a Sunday.

I sure hope not, I just got the asgard 3! 
edit: just checked… it looks like the phono module might be EOL. It would be strange for a new Asgard since it hasn’t even been a year since release, but who knows.
