Sennheiser - Official Thread

It was Oscar Wilde who said it and it was about cynics not Americans.

I’m pretty sure it was my mother who said it about us 3 brothers, on multiple occasions.

I think it’s been said by and about quite a few people actually.

I remember hearing it when I tried to sell the China my wife inherited at a garage sale.

Maybe it was Menken who said “Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste or intelligence of the American Public”

I’m not sure why the inappropriate anti-country population specific quotes are being thrown around, but here is one I find appropriate at this time:

“STFU” ~ Abraham Lincoln.

(I’m pretty sure it was Abraham Lincoln that said that. Yeah. Pretty sure.)

Did this gert flagged or not? I got an auto-generated email about it, but it seems like it has been quoted already-

Hmmm… please be nice everyone! Let’s keep the politics to a minimum and any inflammatory talk as well kept to a minimum. Let’s get back on topic as well please, and thank you!

I meant no offense, and have no problem if the post is removed-- it is intended as satirical, but it is off topic. My bad

This is key information actually.

It serves as bait for spare parts or after market cables. If one is going original:

Then, another “maneuver” here and there – materials-wise (B.O.M.) – and there comes the MSRP at Drop. No miracles.

In addition, from their post:

This means the transducer in the HD 8XX is unique, it’s a new ring driver.

My “speculation-meter” is so high at this point that I’m starting to wonder if the driver membrane itself is made of the same material.

Time will tell though.

Cheers. :beers:

I don’t think anyone took offense.

On topic: Sennheiser’s Ambeo division has partnered up with 3D printing company Formlabs to print custom-fitting earbud tips.
The plan is for buyers to create a scan of their ears using their phone’s camera, then send the scans to Sennheiser. It will then use the Form 3B, an industrial-grade 3D printer “optimized for biocompatible materials,” to print a set of ear tips that perfectly fits that person’s ears.

The Sennheiser HD 2.30G. Ok so finally got this in the mail. Someone posted that it was on sale at Newegg, 24$ down from 80$ Still on sale. On ear. I gotta say the build on it is very nice. very solid and well done. if folds up as you can see. I love the slide system it has for adjustments. Looks like it would fit on a big head. Small and slim, made for portability. looks cool in all white and gold. Comfy, no problems there.

Problem for me is the sound. The Veil is strong with this one. And it commits the carnal sin of headphones imo, sounds like I’m listening to it through a cylinder. Its a dark headphone. Thick sounding. So much so that when the imaging kicks in its a surprise. So of course slight bump in the bass, Mid forward and recessed treble. Not my can of beans. but maybe someone here will like it.

Always a sucker for a cheap headphone I’d been tempted by the 2.30G sale price. Thanks for the review @Antpage & the wave-off, I’ll take your word on these.

Be skeptical of low-end Sennheiser products. I haven’t been impressed with items below the 500 series. It seems you get what you pay for (Is it sub Porta Pro quality?).

[Ugg…flashbacks to an awful folding noise canceling Sennheiser with a battery bump that I used to own…impossible to fold without tangling the cable… Now, get off that airplane with your massive cable wad ASAP!]

Back in November when my softphone’s trusty Best Buy headset began to show signs of giving out after about 5 years of constant use / abuse, I bought a Sennheiser “Communications” stereo headset. It was on a Black Friday deal and was less than $15. It is surprisingly good sounding and has a good quality mic.

It appears that the low cost Sennheiser products aren’t consistent.

Its unfortunate. It is very well built. But then again it did retail for 80$ originally. Wish the Koss was this well built lol

Headphone teased some new audiophile-related Sennheiser product to be released on May 11th.

They are calling it the “Sennheiser X”

I wonder what it could be?
