The Anime Thread

Trying to watch this and thought the first episode was good. The subtitles are making it really hard to watch the second episode.

Not sure if it’s a simulcast issue but the subs are tiny and the lettering is low contrast so your spending so much time trying to read them that you can’t actually watch anything. At times it’s unreadable. Frustrating.

It’s interesting enough that I will see if it’s just this episode that has the bad subtitles. Maybe it’ll be fixed over time.

Was trying to watch on a tablet but may require a bigger screen, which makes it less convenient as Funimation won’t play well with my Apple TV magic box for some inexplicable reason.

Really? I didn’t find it difficult at all…maybe because I watched it in the web version (laptop)? I noticed the subs weren’t as good but I never had that much of a problem with it…

Im gonna try laptop next, just more an annoyance at the moment as its easiest/most convenient for me to watch on a tablet sometimes.

Laptop is much better through the external monitor. No issues now.

Would prefer a more typical sub presentation but this will work. Maybe future episodes will revert.

Ohhh! Just saw this but Crunchyroll released 2 OVAs today for Food Wars. As a fan, I know what I’ll be watching tonight!

I really like that show but I seem to watch it in bursts. Halfway thru S3, been there for some time.

I should just finish it up. I won’t look at the OVAs in case they ruin the story. Hopefully there not limited time releases.

Seasons 1 and 2 were great…S3 was alright…it only goes downhill from there imo. But it still ended up being one of the most memorable anime I’ve watched.

I believe this to be the case as I noted drop off in season 3. It’s just a really fun watch.

Given the setting there is a limit to what they can do, it’s essentially recycling the same thing over and over. But, still fun.

I’ve been looking at some new trailers for the summer season and am I the only one tired of all these isekai anime? There’s way too many. Give me something different! lol

Btw, anyone a fan of Jojo? It’s one of the few popular anime series that I haven’t gotten into yet. I did read the very first manga and thought it was pretty fun. Not sure why I stopped after that. I think it might be time to revisit.

Just finished S1. Digged this one. Another very violent and adultish anime. Thanks for suggesting.

It’s probably about time of catching up with Naruto?

I have not watched Naruto, in fact! I’m sure it’s good but Naruto isn’t really on my priority.

Now that you mentioned Naruto, it reminded me of an old-ish anime called Zatch Bell. Man, that show was a blast!

Never heard of any of them.

Btw, in Inuyashiki, it was the first time I have ever seen mentions to other animes inside an anime.Gantz and One Piece were mentioned in a few episodes.

@hifiDJ

I watched a bit of Land of the Lustrous.

My question is: did you find this a little creepy? Has an odd vibe and visual style which Im not sure what to make of yet.

I think I had to get used to it but the animation and story were pretty unique that I still enjoyed it. Though I did watch it long ago but I remember it being good.

The manga was even more odd but interesting in a good way.

All EVANGELION movies are now up exclusively on Amazon Prime!!! Who’s watching?!

You should consider watching this before your prime ends @frkasper…4 movies in total, but you haven’t watched the original yet right? Although I haven’t seen the movies yet, I think you can still jive without seeing the originals. Don’t quote me on that…lol

I may have a look on them. 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2021? That’s some sparse content.

If I don’t understand sheiß in the first movie, I’ll just halt everything else. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thanks for the heads up. :+1:

Finally finished watching Mugen Train. 7/10.

Had some flourishes and the scenes towards the end were good but overall I thought it a dud considering the hype it got. The 7 rating was merely for the animation. Story line could have been developed better.

Also finished a Prime anime: After the Rain, possibly controversial subject matter regarding the relationship between an older man and a high school student but, again, pretty typical fair. Starts out strong but fades near the end into cliches. 6/10.

Ha, finally! That’s a fair assessment I can agree with.

But the more important question is, how many times have you had to rewatch it?! :joy:

Ah, After the Rain I remember that. It was alright. I do remember liking the ED song and animation but that’s about it.

About 10-15 attempts. Seriously. The last few I was able to get through bigger chunks.
