Well this kind of looks insanely good. Lots of top-tier anime studios working on it. Maybe Star Wars should have been an anime from the start. lol
That reminds me of what they did with The Matrix, when they released some animated shorts. Surprised this wasnât done sooner come to think of it.
Just saw they released the OVA ep for Tonikaku Kawaii over at Crunchy. I like thisâCrunchy releasing OVAs lately.
Niiiice! About time
Be really cool if the movies make it to an easy to access service. I didnât know there were 3, thought just the one.
The other 2 are compilations of the 12 episodes from S1 so youâre not missing anything. The only one worth watching is Dawn of the Deep Soul. Donât know if itâs available in your region but you can watch it at HiDive.
Oh, also Kaguya S3 is being made!
Cool, it was going in circles a little at the end there but I liked it a lot and will definitely check out a S3.
AoT final season pt 2 out on January 2022! Hopefully, itâll be an anime original ending not the manga. lol
Be interested to see how the animate some of the final few chapters of the manga.
I wonder what the reaction would be if Mappa decided to end it their own way? Probably not even possible as thereâs likely a contractual obligation to stick to the manga.
I finally caught up on Iruma! Tonikawa dropped a new episode, not sure if its a one off or the start of part two to season one, havenât looked into it. My watch list is just massive!
Yaaay. Finally.
Iâm positive it wonât be worse than Game of Thrones series finale.
A lot of people werenât happy with the manga ending so it might be well-received (if itâs good). Then again there are many that donât read manga in general (at least outside of Japan).
Yeah thatâs the OVA ep I mentioned in an earlier post.
Never watched so I wouldnât know. lol
All I heard was people couldnât see anything cause it was so dark.
Nothing could be worse than the trashfire of the final season of Game Of Thrones.
IMO, the final season should have ended in episode 3, with this scene (spoiler alert for @hifiDJ and the other one or two people who havenât watched GOT): Arya gets to the point.
I have no context anyway so I wouldnât understand. But the linked video does seem like a good place to end it.
Ha⌠That was a hollywoodean scene. I remember that one. Btw, that scene was already HBOâs, right?
Iâm sure there are also endless battles between the anime studios and manga writers once the former releases a hit to the audience, and the latter is not happy somehow or wants to take control over the whole process. ![]()
Any specific battle comes to mind, @hifiDJ?
Between studios and writers? Hm, I donât know. As far as what Iâve seen anime studios tend to use manga as the sole source material meaning they donât work with the writers directly and have little influence. Though that probably depends on the agreement/contract. But in terms of the process, Iâm clueless how that actually works. Probably a case by case kind of thing. And since itâs most likely about the money, if the manga ends up not doing well the studios will probably shift it a different direction. Maybe thatâs what happened with something like Fullmetal Alchemist and the Brotherhood remake. Just a guess thoâŚ
Anyone tried Shaman King on Netflix? Had some hype a while ago but Im not eager to blindly try another Netflix animated series.
Any tried that He Man thing?
OK, thats the OVA. I was under the impression it was supposed to drop earlier so I thought I missed it or Crunchy didnt get it. Also thought the OVA would be longer than a standard episode so was wondering maybe it was S1 part 2.
Nothing could be worse than the trashfire of the final season of Game Of Thrones.
Seems to have left the collective cultural consciousness completely.
Btw, that scene was already HBOâs, right?
I think that was done by the TV show writers, I donât believe the novel writer had input, could be wrong.

Heard Shaman King wasnât good but havenât watched it, neither He-Man.
Didnât you just say you had a MASSIVE watchlist to go through? ![]()
Didnât you just say you had a MASSIVE watchlist to go through?
Yes, yes i did. Good point.
After watching bit by bit, I managed to finish the Evangelion Rebuild films. It was goodâŚwell, 3 out of the 4 movies were good. The third one was kind of a waste and I feel that if the 3rd one had been better, the 4th one wouldâve been more satisfying. Anyway, the last movie tied it all in nicely like a neat little bow. But I still much prefer the original. The original was much more psychologically insane and messed up. I also preferred the ending of the original where it was more of an open-ended interpretation. The Rebuildsâ ending aimed for a more focused and typical approach. It wasnât bad but it loses a bit of the Evangelion charm and uniqueness. Still, the original is there and the Rebuild films donât replace it so it serves as a nice alternate route. And no, you donât have to watch the original to watch the Rebuilds. Though I still recommend watching the original. I will say though that there are 2 plot points that are bothering the heck out of me with the Rebuilds. But I shall avoid the spoilers.
Now I kind of want to read the manga (which is different)âŚ
The last movie of one of the Fate series I finally watched last night, after having sat on it for such a long time. In short that was a damn near perfect movie, even taking account my heavy bias.
Plot holes? Couldnât find any.
Character development? Plenty.
Theme? Nicely focused.
Pacing? Well done.
Sound? Great.
Animation? Nothing but the best. Period. Seriously, the animation they had on this movie is simply the best Iâve ever seen (in anime). Consistent and meticulous throughout. At one point, I was literally distracted by how good the animation was on a drawer that I had to rewind just to admire it again. lol
The 3 movies seem to be available to purchase at common digital retailers (iTunes, YT, Vudu, etcâŚ). But I wouldnât just jump in without knowing some basics first. The Fate universe isnât for everybody and itâs one of those anime that I would love to recommend but wouldnât to most. In any case, it gets a perfect score from me (10/10). Bravo!
