Ive watched a couple or 3 (??) of the series, I need to go over them and see. Ive enjoyed them but stayed away from the rest of them as I got the vibe it may start to get ridiculous, I believe we have discussed this before.
Does the movie need to be seen as a way to finish off the Fate universe or can it be watched with just a bit of familiarity. Ive only watched the series that revolve around the ultimate bladeworks story and I’m aware there are likely very separate story lines outside of that one.
Been watching Idaten Deities and Ive been impressed. Excellent art, strong early world building and some sinister overtones on both sides. This has a lot of potential to be really good.
Getting into the Fate universe isn’t all that hard actually and isn’t as ridiculous as you’d think. Yeah I think we talked about it before but just to reiterate, there are 4 main ones that should be watched. The other shows you see with Fate on them are all spin-offs, which you don’t really need to watch unless you end up becoming a fan.
But to answer your question the movie can definitely be seen as a way to finish off the Fate universe since it is the last one after all. But in order to understand and comprehend what’s going on you should watch all 4. Depending on how you want to approach it, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend watching the unlimited blade works first (but you already did, oh well).
Anyway, to give you some background the Fate series is based on a visual novel where there are 3 narrative routes. Those were then adapted over to the 3 anime series (fate/stay night, unlimited blade works, heaven’s feel). The other one is the origin story (fate/zero).
Just started on this. Looks like fun. On a side note, I’m looking forward to today’s Iruma episode.
That’s the only one I actually know I haven’t seen. They were one of the first anime series I started with when I got into anime a few years ago. I should go back and see what I have watched. I think I’ve seen Zero…
It took me 3 days , but finally finished watching S1 of Demon Slayer. It’s NETFLIX season here.
I liked this anime. I see in Tanjiro a lot of Naruto. They share a lot behaviors. Actually DS itself has a lot of parallels with Naruto. Really digged the fight scenes.
The annoying part came from his 2 other accompanying friends, specially the yellowish one. In Naruto, the equivalent character wears a green uniform.
Looking forward for S2. I appreciate animes that have a ton of characters and you can clearly see their role as story develops down the line.
Decided to try The Case Study of Vanitas and have liked it so far. I’m pretty much caught up with both the anime and the manga. The humor can sometimes ruin the mood in the anime but other than that I think it’s a solid watch this season. The manga goes further and is quite enjoyable. I’m looking forward to S2 which is confirmed for next year.
Streaming on Funi…
I also caught up on Sonny Boy and I’m not sure where it’s headed but I will say that it’s the unique one this season. I’d wait till this one ends.
Have both of those on my watch list. Heard Vanitas can be a bit odd with the humour and that Sonny Boy was a sci-fi fantasy kind of thing, Haven’t started either,
Did start The Duke of Death and His Maid, unclear where it is going and what it exactly is at this point but it might have some potential.
Also trying to watch Aquatope but it hasn’t grabbed me right of the hop. Still early.
Berserk ch364 went live yesterday. The pages were the last of his manuscripts before he passed away. No further info if they’ll continue the manga so this is pretty much the last chapter. And my goodness that ending! Hope they decide to continue it…
86 S2 should be out Oct 2. Looking forward to this one.
I should read that one. Should be enough there to keep me occupied for a day or two.
Good to know. Im planning on picking that one up again shortly.
Im debating trying to give either My Hero Academia or Fruits Basket a monumental binge. Been watching a little of both recently. I’ll likely blast through MHA first as Im almost done S4.
Just found this thread and I do occasionally indulge in anime. But I’m surprised that nobody has talked about headphones in anime. Often, I’ll admit, not the best anime, but Super Sonico is never without her trademark headphones. And there are other characters that have headphones - often music teachers or band members.
There is a Manga artist that draws characters in current or recent model headphones. STAX used one of his drawings in an ad. OF COURSE Manga elf-girls use SR-404 Lambda style headphones. Why would they not?
Hiatus X Hiatus will never return! Actually maybe but I haven’t heard anything.
Not sure I’d watch more of it anyway, I’m good with where it stopped. The manga, IMO, went off the rails and I stopped reading it so not sure where the anime would go.
Just finished binged reading the Tokyo Revengers manga after being on my queue for a long time. It’s still ongoing but I’m caught up with the latest chapter. It definitely has its problems (lots of plot holes) but overall you read this (or watch) if you like loads of characters and backstories. That’s its strength. The backstories are pretty complex too and all of them intertwine with each other nicely. Enjoyed this one! Although I’m kind of salty that the latest chapter I read left off with a huge cliffhanger…
Finally! We get a release date for the violet evergarden movie (oct 13). I wanted to buy the bluray desperately but it doesn’t come with eng subtitles. Definitely looking forward to this one.
One of those shows that I very much should watch but sadly, may never get to it.
That’s a weird one for me. I got 5 or 6 episodes in, really liked it but then just stopped watching it. I wander around too much and start binging something and forget about my watch list.
Iruma S2 was solid, E20 was very good. Hopefully they do more with Ameri in the next series. I’m tempted to read the manga. I might also read the manga for Tonikawa.
Have tried watching Aquatope… hasn’t wowed me. I can see the magic they are trying to create but it hasn’t grabbed me. I might try a couple of more episodes.
I’m glad I got you into it; it’s just enjoyable to watch. Manga is as enjoyable as the anime and it’s pretty far ahead too so you get a good amount of content.
Are you planning to watch Fena? I want to but watching the clips on crunchy’s yt channel, I already know I don’t like the female protagonist’s personality. Then again it’s made by Production I.G and they don’t disappoint often.
Sonny boy is still in the “I don’t know where it’s heading” stage. Idaten is still enjoyable. Remake our life is starting to get more interesting but it took waaay too long to get where it should be. That first arc should’ve been 4/5 eps not 9! Vanitas I still like it; not a must-watch yet though. Maybe once S2 comes out.
