I think you should take a look at your Nov 2025 post above for reference…

This video could equally apply to another hobby that we all have some passing familiarity with…

My other regular forum is a blade forum, but has a big community including hats, pens, EDC, boots, and so forth. Here’s a sample from the Writer’s Den…

California Pen Show was this weekend.

Had a blast.

A Leonardo Fountain pen with a number 8 nib.

I’ve been told that size isn’t everything, it’s how you use it that counts. But I’ve always wondered if the ladies that told me that were a wee bit disappointed and were thinking about a #8 nib. Maybe even a #10.

Yes, I’m a smartass on that forum also.

Those pens are really beautiful! I can see the appeal.

My handwriting is too poor to justify nice fountain pens, but I have dabbled a bit with pens to the extent I’ve collected some (not all) of the various Tactile Turn limited releases, and one of their one-offs. I especially like their side click and switch pens.

I also went through a bit of an EDC knife phase, but stuck to CRKT, Kershaw, and Spyderco knives. As with everything, you can really go off the deep end with this schiit.

Now I focus "just” on desktop audio!

Perhaps I could edge you a bit more toward the knife forum? If not, look at Work Sharp’s new knife that’s out for cheap…

And I’ve gone toward Chaves and Heretic knives. PM me if you’d like an invite to the knife forum.

And a local guy made me a set of steak knives….

Wow, those are ridiculous! Gorgeous!

Do you use them for their intended purpose?

I tested one of them on an aged prime delmonico, and the steak had no chance.
Very new, just got them last weekend. Maker is Whistler Designs in Mechanicsburg PA.

When I saw EDC, I initially thought you were referring to a concealed carry weapon. EDC can stand for Every Day Carry.

D’oh!
