Training with music in 13/9 beat can cause confusion between brain and limbs but doing deadlifts with early Black Sabbath is total harmony. ![]()

Brain twisted.
Not my favorite version, to soft.

Here’s a dopey challenge for you
I’m in another forum (gasp) not related to headphones. One of the topics there involves hats. I’m working on making a “whoopie cap” which is the sort of hat that Goober Pyle or Jughead wears. These were popular for mechanics between about 1925 and 1955 or so. They typically have pinbacks or pins on them.
I’m collecting pin and pinbacks (aka buttons like campaign buttons) that are vintage, aviation, automotive, or Cthulhu Mythos related. I’m trying to create an image for a button to be made that features NYARLATHOTEP for CONGRESS, in his guise of the Black Pharoh, possibly wearing a fez. A line drawing would be fine, but I do want it to look evil.
I’ve come up with this so far, but I’m really not happy with it. Using an AI prompt, of course.
Here’s the challenge
Using the AI of your choice, please post an alternative. Extra points for actually having text saying NYARLATHOTEP for CONGRESS
Now all of you who have wondered about my sanity may cease wondering.
Happy
day, @Nuance.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good forum and/or YT channel for speakers run from tubes. I’m setting up a listening room for my new purchases and don’t know where to turn for advice. I’m going to run an R2R Centaurus and speakers undetermined yet. I want to focus on the speakers then the amp. I think that to start I’ll use my tube headphone amp as a pre-amp but want to get a “pure tube” speaker amp. No DSP or EQ, just tubes and speakers. Where would I go to talk about that? Or where would I go to learn about this topic?
Also since this is off topic I’ll post some pictures of my current listening station, problem being I fall asleep easily. It’s a boneless sofa in front of an 8ft aquarium with KEF Q950’s run off a crown power amp and a mini-dsp flex. The headphone setup is the previously mentioned Topping Centaurus and Dragon Inspire IHA-1. Just ordered some Tungsten from Modhouse and will be waiting for quite some time, but it’s worth it.
Nice aquarium. Lots to unpack in this post. Try using your tube preamp with your solid state existing set up first. If you never overdrive your amplifier that may give you all the tube sound that you really need.
The big advantage of tubes back in the day was that when they were driven hard, they did not distort in a way that was nearly as annoying as a transistor output.
If you must get tubes, then you need to consider how efficient your speakers are how much power you need and how big your budget might be. Back in the day I ran a pair of Dynaco Mark III monobloc amplifiers to my rectilinear speakers. These days it is cost prohibitive although modern kits exist. If you have efficient speakers, you can probably get away with much less power. There are modern builders of the stereo 70 amp in the 2 to 3000 range.
Expecting a better result (for Arsenal) this year.
Who do you think you are? Real Madrid?
My wife has a BM mug. BM has a far better logo than Arsenal’s 1980s bar beer sign look. My trophy is the stuff with the best logo.

Just with a
, don’t take this Personal please…..
Just ask some
Fans about the performance of Bayern Munich this season, it ends up
for them….
Why do some people think that I will enjoy listening to
the one note bass and trunk rattle emanating from their slammed
2012 Honda left idling while they conduct their business at the vape store?
That fountain pen seems to bear a family resemblance to a ballpoint I have. Is it a Scriveiner? I assume you like it or it wouldn’t be in a picture.
More details on the hat and knife, please. (And on the pen if I’m mistaken about it.)
Yes, it is. I have two in blue and one in green, plus one of their rollerballs. Good value for entry level fine writing. I’m using a converter in it, and the ink is a mix of Pelikan blue-black and Birmingham Pens Lightning Twinkle - so a bit of metallic, but not so much it clogs.
Hat - That’s a Stetson Open Road 25 (25 X) long oval in Silverbelly from about 1953.
The knife is a William Henry limited edition, SN 76 of 100. I think it’s a B12 Wharncliffe, Not Damascus, M390 steel I think. Barbara gave it to me for my 71st birthday.
I’m not familiar with candidate “Today.” A cousin of Pat Paulsen? What is the party membership? Or, is Today the party name?
