What are we looking at? Cayin?

Yeah, It’s the HA-300 (mk1).

Wanted to try out something fun while I figure out what’s next.

Tube Glow: In on technicalities edition

Two tiny fluorescent squares on my Korg Nutube evaluation board. They actually are tubes and they do glow from inside.

The external reflective “glow” off my Schiit LISST solid state “tube.” It has a UFO vibe in the Lyr 3.

These 7802’s took me several years to find. Well worth the wait :+1: Looks similar to the Tung-Sol 6080, but much more trans-conductance (20,000) than 6080/6AS7G (7,000) and 5998 (14,000). Never heard this level of clarity, imaging, instrument separation, timbre, tonal density, air, and sweet musicality all in one tube roll. These tubes plus the BF 2/64 upgrade have taken my VC listening up a few solid notches.

I love this amp :heavy_heart_exclamation:

What tubes did you put in there.
These are obviously not the originals.

i’m using the elrog 300b-mo tubes. i’ve tried a range of tubes— the full music, the we, and the takatsuki. i’m leaning toward the elrog for fun listening, and the takatsuki for careful listening.

these are minuscule but discernible (and so subjective!) differences. all these tubes are superb, really.
