Been wanting to build an amp based on these for a while.
Holy cow! They look like they could power the Starship Enterprise.
Nice glamour shot dressed in red!
Now that is some MuthaFuckin glow!
Really like Feliks Audio amp’s!
One of the most elusive rectifiers ever made, the Marconi U8 mesh plate. At one point I though the 422A, U52 or metal base GZ34 was the top of the hill. There’s a whole far bigger hill to climb and this sits at at the very top. Thankfully it’s not a drop in for anything and is somewhat cheap yet uber rare.
A 6as7g equivalent you will not see very often. This is a Svetlana winged C from 1955 with extra shielding at the bottom. Built for the Russian navy. The 50’s version use different getter holders.
Those are gorgeous - but your photo didn’t seem to come through on Discourse - just the link to it. Possibly it was a little large? You can always make a small version and link it to a big one.
Don’t these guys come with an external power supply unit, or wall wart type?
Now that looks to me like a pig with her piglet (and umbilical cord). Mmmm. Pork is tasty.
Something about ionized gas, radiation and whatever.
Rectifier startup to enter a brand new world of pounding beats, pure melodies and euphoria.
Now that you mention it…
I’m not one to turn down pork belly and al pastor tacos.
Which one came with your unit? Let’s see the whole goods, not the tease!
A little comparison, my X-Can V3 looks similar on the inside. Unfortunately does not have the clear top such as the MZ2.
OK OK I’m not one to tease! I went with the switching power supply. It’s hidden away on a shelf a couple feet away and tough to get a photo, sorry.
I did notice a resemblance with the V3.
You are such a tease! You seem to have found a gem in this ampm, does that mean the DNA is off the table for now?
