What music have you been listening to this past week?

I haven’t listened to Herbie in a long time, added to the list for tomorrows office day :+1:

This young ladies voice continues to impress me! Looking forward to this movie too, Daniel Craig=The Best Bond

Given a “License to Kill” – only Sean Connery’s portrayal really matched the character. A professional assassin must be a cold blooded psychopath to be effective (e.g., uncaring toward women, able to instantly switch moods, etc.). All later Bonds had trouble with tone, as the broad popularity of James Bond made it tough to actually be bad. Roger Moore in particular really, really never had a dark side.

Similar not-very-good-to-not-very-bad transitions occurred with Dirty Harry (i.e., he’s really unsavory in the first movie) and the Terminator (i.e., the actual villain). When the audience starts to cheer for a dark character, mainstream movies almost always soften the edges.

I’ll grant that the first Daniel Craig movie (Casino Royale) was near the top. However, the later Craig films (especially Skyfall) weren’t great.

Bottom line movie quality aside to me Daniel Craig is the only fully believable bond to me with Sean Connery coming in a close second!

When I first heard of Daniel Craig taking on the Bond role I was skeptical to say the least. I thought “that guy isn’t handsome enough to play the suave, debonair James Bond.”

“Casino Royale” is my favorite Bond film to date.

Yes, exactly.

He played the character as the most realistic version of an intelligence asset, imo.

I would definitely agree that Sean Connery was my favorite bond before Daniel Craig, but how about this, since we are on a music topic, what is your favorite bond track and from what music artist???

For everyone?? Let’s play! We could even link the song here and make a poll just for fun!

Jack White knows how to rock, and Alicia Keys has some ‘pipes’ on her.

When I was younger, Casino Royale was very popular. Still good, but I love the opening theme on You Only Live Twice. Thunderball’s opening made a huge impression on my 11 year old mind, but I don’t think it was just the music.

The first Bond movie song I remember is Sheena Easton’s “For Your Eyes Only”. My dad loves 007 (actually all kinds of action movies) and one of my fondest memories is going to the cinema with him when I was little. I hope they update the 007 compilation album soon, I think the last version is from 2012.
