What music have you been listening to this past week?

There is only one workaround for the monthly Tidal subscription. Go to bestbuy.com, search for Tidal. They offer a year long subscription. The problem is, during that subscription you must then use your Best Buy account to manage the subscription, you won’t be able to do that from Tidal’s website/application. But, you only have to futz with it once a year, so…

It’s stupid not to just offer it as a default subscription option. Another annoying thing about Tidal.

Came out a few years ago and as the title says, it’s a rejigging of The Four Seasons by Vivaldi. This is generally very good, has that typical Richter vibe for the most part but he manages to stay true to the genuine article. Ive been going through a few different The Four Seasons recordings recently so this is an interesting way to break it up a bit.

I know im a bit late but i started listening to Becks Colors album. I dont know how to describe it. its like he put in it LOT gain into it lol. its like the whole album is U shaped. lots of treble and bass. Some tracks are going full tilt. especially the title track. even in my best headphones it caused them to vibrate buzz a little and causes some distortion in my lesser headphones. I thought my Arya’s would be able to handle it but no, it was vibrating too. its like Beck said lets make some music to test audio gear too. or lets make music to break audio gear too lol. Ultra HD its in high res

The best headphone i heard it in was the Auteur headphone. with its warmth and controlled treble the tracks were not so intense.

Anyone else hearing this?

Nice song. Haven’t noticed anything bad with DT 770 250ohm though i don’t wanna reach out to my Ananda right now.
Oh just heard crackles around 2:24 (on spotify). Very nice music. Enveloping, 3d, rich and fun song. A bit laidback like there is a thin barrier between me and the music, no offensiveness.

Well… whole soundtrack is a big masterpiece. This is the only movie that i’ve watched 4 times in theaters just because of the grandness of the soundtrack and it’s harmony with the movie. Sadly headphones not as good as real good movie theater dolby atmos sound system. Oddly this soundtrack not as good without it’s movie. I love listening movie soundtracks but Interstellar soundtrack is so tied to the movie i can’t get the same experience when listening through music streaming services.

It’s nice to see that some forum members decided to take the plunge with Roon. It’s an awesome software, the metadata feature plus various DSP (upsampling, EQ, Headroom Management, etc), your local library, Tidal and Qobuz seamless integration, different listening zones and overall sound quality makes it unbeatable. I went with the Lifetime Subscription after a week or so of trying it a few years ago.

Ah and that’s a great OST. Love to listen to it on my speaker rig.

Interesting. I really love Little Dragon’s Ritual Union and I’d never thought I’d here it that way.

I’ve been listening to a good deal of electronic, more so ‘chill’ style music.

Al Stewart - Last Days of the Century.

New (to me) Bryston BDP-2…Sounding pretty good.

Bryston BDP-2 (MPD) > Chord Qutest > PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell DAC (preamp) > Amps and Sound Kenzie > Focal Clear

MPD is a really clean way to listen to music. Very defined.

Tracks 3 & 6 and the name of the band look like a match.
