Beach House’s “7” is their latest album, if you have a chance also check out Bloom and Depression Cherry, mighty good!

It’s good. Seems to have disappeared from Primephonic (unknown reason) but still on Tidal. It can very easily suck you in to the music. Glorious on tubes.

Listen to this, specially the “Like What” track if you want to have some “oh shit” moments with your cans. Terrific electronic EP.

“Like What” has a bit of WTF in there too. Took me by surprise a couple of times.

Hahahaha, yeah I forgot to mention the WTF moments. I thought my DAC had an issue.

I went back to The Mars Volta: Deloused in the Comatorium (2003) for another listen. This is probably the closest I’ll ever be to someone experiencing late-stage, terminal drug abuse. This music was created by a bunch of guys who were way, way, way over the edge. Original vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala said about contributor Jeremy Ward (emphasis added):

“One day, we were all getting high, and Jeremy asked me if I could see he had worms in his head. I never touched the stuff again. His passing was the final nail in the coffin. We never went back.”

It does have one of the more unique album covers of all time too…

Found another really enjoyable jazz track that I’m into at the moment. The album it’s on gets a bit experimental at times, but this one is quite a bit more structured and more relaxing:

This and their following album I’ve listened to a lot. Some real gems in there hey. Love it. The Widow on their next album is one of my favourite songs.

Love Eriatark too, listening right now. Haven’t listened to this album in like a year!

ROON RADIO

For quite a while, I have been overlooking Roon Radio as a music discovery source. For the past week or so, I have been finding so many new and exciting performances and artists that I am gobsmacked. I had dismissed it as something sort of trivial, but have found it to be really valuable. Makes me glad that I went for a lifetime Roon subscription. I think that Roon Radio will provide me with limitless hours of music joy.

I have had the same experience with the Primephonic radio option as well, wonderful for music discovery!!!

My playlists are getting richer everyday thanks to this amazing Roon feature and great suggestions (most of the time).

I also got the lifetime subscription, it felt expensive at $499 for a music player software but in the long run, I think it was a steal. I went with the annual membership for Qobuz and I hate receiving the $19.99 monthly payment confirmation from Tidal. It makes it feel expensive, I would rather pay it once a year and be done. I hope they come up with the that option sometime.
