I set out to teach myself how to play some new music this week. I heard The Surfari’s Wipe Out recently and gave it a try. It took 10 minutes to learn the main melody line (to include several sub-variations).
I also was looking for something to play on my recently finished cigar box bass guitar. Its first song was Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust. The main riff only takes about two minutes to learn.
This is my heavy rotation in the evening for relaxing. Well suited for warm headphones and tubes. I’ve included a few mentioned to @ValentineLuke and @DEXCOM7 from the stream yesterday. I actually think the Susvaras would be great for these from what people say. I’m a huge fan of the album evo session by Chlara.
Thanks for humoring me guys. I think the tracks from Chlara are going to sound incredibly organic on your Susvaras. @ValentineLuke No idea what you have but hope you like it.
Had a friend in high school that introduced me to yngwie… I’d reccommend his trilogy album, he is an extraordinary virtuoso.
My friend, Eric, was accomplished enough to play some of his material and whenever he would have to give a name at a restaurant, he would use yngwie… Was always a laugh listening to the host trying to pronounce it.
My friend passed away a few years ago, but great memories.
I had a friend in high school that introduced me to Yngwie too. He only listened to Malmsteen and classical at the time, and often mused about why this was.
Give a listen to Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear. Start with their cover of “Dreams.” If that wets your whistle try the album “Skeleton Crew.” May not be everyones cup of tea but damn, I sure like the listen.
