I’ll interpret this one delivered today as my Xmas present. 
Now to the ranting part of the post. This, Sennheiser, was the cable I was expecting in the new HD800S. 
Somehow I refused to purchase a female 4.4mm adapter, even though I have no 4.4mm amp here. Alternatively, I didn’t want to purchase an amp with a 4.4mm plug just to use the balanced cable shipped with the product. 
Anyway, I’m happy I found a guy on ebay that was selling this accessory for 30% off MSRP. And it’s original. 3 meters. And I love it. 
Now, I can finally buy a XLR female to TRS adapter. Remember @Chrono’s lesson: once the ODU terminals are plugged in, never take them off.

What type of Telefunkens? Telefunken makes great tubes. I have two 12AU7s (ECC82) and two 12AT7s (ECC81).

Those are sweet. I have a pretty good collection of 6DJ8s. I have an Audio Horizons tube buffer (TB 5.1) which uses them. No Telefunkens in those. Mostly Amperex Bugle Boys, and some domestic NOS (RCA, GE, Sylvania).

They can be pretty handy. For what it’s worth, most regular tube sellers who state values measure accurate in my experience. My tester series is pretty common, so the calibration values are usually within a couple of points.

It’s been a crazy/fun 6 months.
Still learning what I really like, a lot of roster churn in the interim.

Must be a pretty nice one. I see Simpsons, which I consider a great manufacturer of analog test equipment selling for 100-200.

I had EI EL84s that I got from the same guy in my Hagerman which were phenomenal.
Amperex Orange in the Vali 2. Very nice.
PSVane CV181-T MKII in the Lyr3. Great tube
Soviet 6n3p for the Loxjie cheap upgrade.
Like I said, roster churn. I’ve been buying and selling stuff to figure out what I want. I know I like the pricey stuff.

If you buy a TV-7, get the later model TV-7 D/U. It’s much better with small signal tubes. My brother modified my TV-7 A/U to work better with them. He has a TV-7D/U. The later model is more expensive (towards the $1K mark), but better overall and more stable.
My brother bought mine at a swap meet twenty plus years ago as a non-working basket case. He had a couple of them and made a working one.
Pricey stuff is great. Buying it used can be a benefit in this hobby. Like a new car, let the other guy take the big hit purchasing new. Open box stuff can be a great deal.

While I’m still in the learning stage, I like the secondary market because I can get at least most of my investment back. Once I know what I want, I’d like to support the guys that make the stuff directly, Zack, Justin, Feliks. These are all small boutique shops that deserve patronage.
