What's in the box!

What a great idea, I never thought about that when I bought mine. I suppose if you get more headphones, you could continue with that approach with the headphone cable.

Very nice. I’d like to know what you think once you get some time in with it.

Congrats! I am mere minutes/hours/days from ordering a May myself… after a bit more hem’ing and haw’ing and debating the alternatives, when I know damn well I’m going to land on the May. That’s my process, though. :man_shrugging: lol

You know, the less time you spend hemming and hawing, the sooner you’ll get it! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I must have been snoozing if you already posted that. Wow, congrats!

So, what’s next?

I had resisted these for a long while but finally caved in to see what the fuss is all about

Absolutely love the Envy. I don’t see myself needing or wanting anything else. I was considering getting something SS but I don’t need it…all my headphones pair well with the Envy and I have the Folkvangr when I want more tubeyness for my 800s.

I did think I might need a Serene or Bliss to go between May and Envy because of the hot out of the May but it’s fine.

So yeah, love it. I will try to share something at some point on the Envy thread but I suck at really expressing things better than just ranting about how great it is. Thing is I don’t have any references to anything in its league…

Bottom line for me is it drives the Susvara with no issue. I only have volume at about 9 o’clock. So there’s a ton of headroom. (Which is why I thought a pre might improve things a bit.) It’s the best I’ve heard and I don’t feel I’m lacking or missing out on anything the Susvara can give. Plus it has enough flexibility to work with all my cans.

Totally content with it and not looking for anything else/more which feels good… Finally!! …and hopefully May is the same :grin:

Nice!!

Hear its a great pairing with the CFA3 if that’s what you’re still running!

Interested to hear what you think.

Edit:
Ohh, and love the GrumpyGoose stand!!! Gorgeous!

Trying to get one though is frustrating! Always missing them makes me a grumpy goose!!
….someday!! :crossed_fingers:

Yeah running it with CFA3 with Studio B pre. Just listened to the Love Supreme album and the texture and timbre on the bass was pretty amazing. But I suppose I’ll reserve detailed impressions after at least 30-40 hours of settling down.

Nice Envy impressions. I had a chance to briefly listen to it at CanJam with HEK but it was noisy and limited music so hard to say. Very cool looking amp for sure!

For grumpy goose, e-mail Christopher to get on his distribution list which emails the night before the drop which makes a little easier to grab one.

Nothing for a while. My wife hasn’t noticed that this showed up yet!!!….:face_with_raised_eyebrow:-:astonished:-:face_with_symbols_over_mouth:—-:face_with_head_bandage:

Eventually the next move is source. Which is by far the most confusing/difficult piece to me.

Do you mean a streamer or are you going down the vinyl rabbit hole next?

Oh, no not vinyl!! :grimacing: Don’t think I’m ever going there….I’m scared!! I’m sure it’s great but I can’t take another rabbit hole!!

Yes, streamer, Nuc, etc. I want to get off of Pc. I already use Roon and I want to try Hqplayer also.

A couple days before I bought the May last week I almost committed to buying a used Signature Rendu. That whole setup is confusing to me though….there’s so many possible components, adapters and LPS’s. Info and reviews are pretty scarce too. Been looking into Innuous, SonicTransporter and some others I can’t recall atm. I’m not ready for that yet. Considering just getting a Red for the time being till I decide.

Building a NUC and installing Roon on it are pretty easy, or at least the instructions (including YT videos) are easy to follow. We have a thread somewhere for that too.

Vinyl is not a rabbit hole. It’s the one true way . . .

Preach it, Brother. Let me get the choir together…

What’s confusing to me I guess is what’s the “best” way and the multiple ways. Nas, naa, server, player, streamer… i guess I don’t fully get all of it.

I went through a back and forth with a dealer last week about a used PhoenixNet and Zenith Mk3 that I was interested in trying only to find out that I would still need something to do Hqplayer. That the Zenith really isn’t capable of doing the heavy lifting of dsp upsampling. Here’s the confusion on my part…

Whatever is handling the Hqplayer comes after Roon. So if the Zenith still basically needs a computer after it for HQP, then what does that go to ??? Another music server?? So why do I need the Zenith (@ 5k!! No less)and all its functionality and connectivity if it ends up so far upstream? I must be missing something or confusing it somewhere??

Anyway, don’t want to derail the thread any further with my lack of understanding

I’ll continue my research and I’m not ready quite yet anyway.

Vinyl isn’t “a” rabbit hole, it’s THE rabbit hole.
