What's in the box!

Cool! Do they use earclips, or is a headband coming in a separate box?

Just in time for CanJam NYC! I used to bring a Hugo 2, but sold it, as it was only ever getting used at CanJam, and that felt like an overkill reason to keep it. The Mojo 2 performs almost as well, is even more compact, and I feel it’s a better device to loan out to friends that want to dip their toe into the hobby, because it’s less intimidating than the Hugo 2 price-wise.

The headphone gods have been good to me lately. ZMF Bokeh Open Nocturne:

This headphone is so much fun, it’s ridiculous! It’s punchy and dynamic, hits hard in the bass, and definitely scales up. Typically great ZMF mids, and a goodly amount of sparkle in the top end. Using DSHA-3FN it sounds fantastic, kind of like Atrium Open and Focal Clear OG had a baby!

@Lothar_Wolf knowing how much you like your Bokeh Closed, and your ZMFs in general, I can’t help but think you’d love this! Supposedly as punchy and hard hitting as the closed, but more evenly tuned and more resolving. Has me smiling the whole time I’m listening.

I just set it up last night and ran it straight up, and I think you’d love it as is.

I’ll also be interested in what you think, top tier amp there. :+1:

How long was your wait for it?

I ordered it Nov 23. Relatively soon after they announced the pre-order

I see your carnival-style box cutters, but what’s in the box? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Don’t go and Stabb yourself, please.

Well the one I used to cut the cord and open the box is Chaves Knives TAK Tanto limited edition (el Chicano) - that might be your Bokeh closed knife…

The fancy one is a Robert Eggerling blade - made in Reading PA by the Master of Damascus - it’s called “mosaic Damascus” The handle (and scales) and mechanism is from Thailand. It looks like a Suchat, but I’m not positive. Eggerling’s studio where he makes fancy Damascus steel for knives, guns and other things is about 30 miles from my house. I really liked the global vibe. Abalone and Pearl. The titanium parts are etched to catch the light and change color also.

I don’t think I’ll be buying too many fancy knives for a while. My grand-nephew, just turned 16 has been a bad influence, “Can a guy really have too many knives?” and my new admin at work - she’s from Arizona via Alaska - is worse. Goes to blade events, collects knives and guns.

And @generic, I do know how to open and close these. The dangerous one is my $50 Spyderco kitchen paring/utility knife. I already have stabbed my finger with it. But it cuts like nobody’s business.

Utility Knife 4.5" Polypropylene Black - Spyderco, Inc.

And yes, @Nephilim_81 the Eggerling site does have certain ZMF like charm. Just look at those custom billets.

I didn’t know of Chaves Knives before, that’s nice stuff! Expensive!

I also like Spyderco, have several which stay sharp as shit if you maintain it and holds its edge very well. :+1:

There’s a Texas company that makes really nice knives as well, similar price range as Chaves. It’s called Tactile Knife https://tactileknife.co.

They also make some pretty cool writing instruments, which is how they first got started. Check out

How do you go about sharpening?

I’ve not talked about it much, but I’m a definite knife-enthusiast. Sharpening has been a big part of that. Just wondering.

I use several methods/tools/systems … but I’ll save those for a later post.
