Yes it is discontinued. I will know Thursday if my big DAC +10 db option is enough for the amp. If not I will try the Freya,one or the other. Thanks for the info.

The dude on ASR changed his mind and pulled out so no go. However, I found my FAC has. +10 gain setting that is doing the trick so I am not going to look too hard now

How does this sound with the Freya+? I’m curious about the tube pre and Class D solid state power amp pairing.
My assumption as well.
I actually bought a VTV Purifi Eval-1 amp and pulled the PA-1’s out of the system right before the Freya+ arrived. So can’t speak to that pairing but with the Purifi and the Freya+ with tube buffer it’s a surprisingly good synergy. Coming out of the Onkyo RZ810’s pre outs the PA 1’s would get a little gritty in the higher frequencies at high volumes, especially with poorly recorded rock music. This is through Revel F208’s. None of that harshness with the Purifi, even through the Onkyo but oh my what an improvement with the Freya+.

Nice setup. I researched tube preamps recently and it was between the Freya+ and LTA MZ2. I opted for the latter as it also offers headphone outputs. The Freya+ has sounded very good during my visits to the Schiitr. I’m going to look more into Purifi now.

Thanks! I can’t fault the Purifi amp I’m using. Dead silent, even with the Freya at full volume and my ear a couple inches from the tweeter, prodigious power and runs cool as the prodigious cucumber.
