I went and searched that movie on Amazon, itās on Prime! I have to re-watch it now, itās been years! I had totally forgotten Steve Gutenberg was the reporter in it, heās practically a child he looks so young! But it was made in 1978ā¦ Great, great movie with fantastic cast.

I get what youāre saying. I was just curious when you said the Atrium Closed has āthe greatest addictive potentialā if you were including the open models as well.
As you know I have the Atrium open and just bought the Bokeh, but if Iād known the Atrium Closed B stock would be so deeply discounted, I might have considered it instead as I do love my Atrium. Do they even sound similar or just have the same driver?
Eh it is what it is. Iāve had similar experience with closed backs as @generic and @pennstac, so Iām more comfortable gambling $1100 than $1900 anyway. I will, of course, post here when I have had some time with them but as they are the LTD, I donāt expect to that to be until 2025.
I think that @Lothar_Wolf may be referring to the fact that he exclusively buys the ZMFs that have been made from the wood of trees that had been inhabited by Dryads in the Black Forest. Thus the closed-back takes on an almost well not almostā¦ intimate tone of a sexy wood nymph whispering in his ear. Whispering things most inappropriate. I have a loaner Bokeh Open (which I canāt bring myself to refer to as āBOā) which by late this afternoon will have logged ~75 hrs burn-in. This burn-in station does not feature my best gear, not even close, but already, with the stock mesh & hybrid pads on, I hear real brilliance from this driver.
Tomorrow night Iāll bring this headphone up to the main system to hear whatās what.

What amp do you expect to use regularly? Iāve tested on a few systems, but keep it at work where I have the OTL tube amp and the Modi Multibit. All I need, really. It was fine on my main stack at home. Bifrost to Lyr3 (with LSSST). And it was OK on the FiiO K9 Pro ESS - perhaps a bit sterile on that - which has a THX type solid state and ESS. The Rosson RAD-O sounds great on the FiiO, but it would not be my choice with the ZMF Auteur Classic.
Iām going to experiment a bit, but almost certainly my Nitsch DHSA-3FN. It is a fantastic pairing with every ZMF dynamic Iāve tried it with.
Iām getting to be like Lothar, with this Iāll end up having Atrium Open, Verite Open, Eikon Classic, and Auteur Classic!

This drop is really nice looking, and Iāll be very interested what you think.
I ended up swapping pads from the stock hybrids to the lambskin perf for it, as I sometimes found the treble a bit spicy. This dialed down the treble a bit, and did bump up the bass (which it didnāt need but is fun). Ymmv and all that of course.
Anyway congrats, I think you will be pleased.
