I like the BE2 pads but prefer the universe pads , but the BE2 pads are my next favorites.
If you leave a note requesting them is a good idea as well lol

Did anyone compare the 2k copper with 4 strands silver cables from ZMF?
I’m hoping to rejoin the gang. This time I want to see if I could get that blueish look done. I would add copper or stainless steel parts. I enjoyed the previous set I had but never gave them the time of day. This time around I would as I miss them.

Hi - I purchased a VO today to ZMF’s German reseller as I live in France. I am wondering what additional pads I should buy to vary my experience of the VO. I read that the BE2’s provides a more linear tuning but does it apply to all BE2 models?
Moreover, in order to avoid shipping cost and custom taxes in the future, I may also order an upgrade cable. Has anyone experience the Silver 4 strands and could share his experience?

I recommend the universe perforated suede pads as this has become my favorite pads so far. It leans towards the neutral side compared to the default universe perforated lambskin pads without losing too much sound stage like it does with perforated verite pads. BE2 is my 2nd favorite pads. It is more linear compared to the universe pads to my ear but I still prefer the sound stage on universe. I only have the lambskin so I don’t know if this goes for all models.
As reference, this is my setup:
Bifrost 2 - LYR 3 (Psvane CV181-Z Mk.2) - Verite (Perforated Universe Suede)
Pads: Perf. verite Lambskin, Perf. Universe Lambskin, Perf. BE2 Lambskin, Perf. Universe Hybrid Lambskin/Suede, Perf. Universe Suede.
It’s a warm tube with great low ends. I use the pads to tune the low ends down a notch.

Thank you very much @Audio_Prom for your kind welcome. I am very happy to join this Vérité community. It seems that the ZMF pads offering makes their headphones an everlasting and surprising source of joy. This is very stimulating.
Following your advice and other testimonies, I will for sure go for the Universe Suede Perf. I may go for BE2 Suede also to allow increased bass tightness but should it by hybrid or suede only? Does hybrid impact the sound of this is just a matter of style?

I only have experienced the BE2 Lambskin so I don’t know about the other BE2 models. The best way to find out is to e-mail them directly. Zach, the owner is hands down one of the most helpful individual I’ve ever dealt with. Good turn around in response as well.
My personal approach is always try to evaluate a new/different component in the chain first before deciding/adding another. That way I have a better picture of what I need to acquire next in order to achieve the sound profile I’m looking for. To be honest, it’s hard sometimes when I just want to play and try everything at the same time 
but I digress…that’s just my 2 cents.

So are you saying the Universe perforated suede has less bass than the Universe perforated leather? Because I thought the suede added more bass. It certainly did with the BE perforated suede.
I perceive it as tighter bass than less. When I was using Universe perf. lambskin, I had to EQ down some of the mid bass because with some dance tracks, I could hear some bleeds into mids & vocals region. I hope that make sense.
Edit: Some other tubes could fix this issue (Sylvania Bad Boy & RCA Clear Tops) but they present a different sub-bass profile. I just like the Psvane’s profile better.

It does. Thanks for the info. I’ve been pad rolling as well, but more out of curiosity. I really like the stock Verite perforated leather for frequency response. But I like the soundstage of the Universe pads.

Broke down and bought the stand, its really nice, glad I bought it.
Also, picked up the Auteurs and the VC. Excited to hear them both.

Most definitely, the pref pads are the best for these V opens, IMO.

A question on the ear pads. I seem to have mix them up this morning and can’t tell them apart. Can anyone tell me which of these are verite pads or universe pads or are they all the same here?
Note I arranged them based on the color of perforation but in terms of size they all look pretty similar to me.

Ear hole size looks a touch off but if I had to guess, Universe top.
Universe has a thicker depth of pad at the back than the Verite

Its the Purple Heart Wood, my V Opens are Purple Heart, thought she would match nicely.
Just got to pickup another one, especially now that I bought two more sets of ZMF cans.
